Carmel Front exterior - New
Picture: this is our front of house. Add in small extra window for height (as people have been telling us) and do the soft whitewash or shingles idea (see other saved photos in this section). Then we do the firepit built in retaining walls with lighter stone swirling into path. This is all behind the fence.
Color scheme idea - soft grey/blue (we might be a bit lighter), honey wood, bright white. If we do a white, blue / grey, wood color scheme then we also have the option to do the Dutch door in wood rather than white and if we did the small second level window for more light this too could be either white or wood. --One difference is we have much more outdoor wall space, so it would be a lot of dark grey
I like the idea of adding in wood beams to make a front port and how this feels very California coast. I am finding myself drawn to this wood color but also could see it as whitewash -- I really like the idea of an extended porch, but it might be hard becasse to extend on the driveway side since the roof would be over the driveway. If we can remove the tree to open up the front area, we could do a modified, smaller porch.
If we go the greyer route with the stone, this textured slab is very nice (though a bit too warm toned to match our blue)
