Bathrooms
I like the overall feel. I think I'd rather have a vanity top like this than actual marble look, if possible?? Other than the shower tile grout looking kinda busy for my taste, the feel of this would definitely make me happy (as far as colors, predominance of white, maybe a little greige (shower) and light light beige (counter)? Maybe more of a stronger metal accent setup (the silver is boring) - and/or black accents could be added? OOH WINDOW TRIM IS PAINTED BLACK....NICE!
Several things I like: IDK if our bathroom has the size/scale for these floor tiles but they ARE pretty. It seems like they are echoed in the small square tiles in the shower, which also are a satisfactory multi-tonal look. I like that the pattern from the inset shelf is echoed in the backsplash on the vanity. I think that might be nice to have accent in the shower be echoed on the mirror wall. That said, I think only having that small sliver of the pattern on the backsplash looks a bit strange, particularly in combination with the huge trim on the mirrors (is it tiles?? Hm.). Also I don't love the huge trim on the mirrors. Also, I guess if we are still discussing painting the vanities, then they won't be this dark and part of what appeals in this is the dark/light contrast offsetting each other. Grump grump.
I know I have saved a lot of warm wood looks but this grey textured look on the vanities is ALSO very pretty. NOTE I am not looking to do this on the vanities (I can't tell if it's wood or a faux finish but it doesn't matter). I just wanted to say that I think that this gets at the same thing that I seem to like about woods without having to be warm-toned like most woods are
First, I like the tile a lot but I think this is a lesson to me in how stark a dark tile would look and I'm not a huge fan. I wouldn't want to go any darker than this!!! Second, the wood floor is nice but it's kind of strange looking to have such an austere white setup and those two dark areas - they kind of feel like a black hole. Third - an observation that maybe we could include wood on the window treatment?? (and can I add that I love the window trim being black! I saved so many kitchen inspiration photos with that feature!)
Inspiration for tile and for shower generally. Interesting the way tile is on the outside of the shower. Not trying to pitch that, but that IS one way to have a little more "pop" without doing a whole wall (like behind the mirrors) which I've saved elsewhere. Re-saved this again when I noted in the article that they used black for the bench and for the trim on the recessed shelf. Very interesting!
While I like blue/white/wood better, this is also very very very appealing
Gosh wow this is pretty in so many ways. Maybe a bit too much going on but nice inspiration (what I like: wood tones, floor faux wood, green shower glass. Interesting tiles in shower.
I guess these sort of shelves are very farm-house-y so might now work, but, again, trying to find ways to incorporate wood grain - (just thinking shelving in general, not so much these EXACT shelves...)
Well, if we don't do some kind of decorative wall, is the mirror frame one way to incorporate wood grain look"
I like the marble-is tile on the shower surround. Another interesting photo with tile on the walls. Appealing, but makes me think $$$$ to add tile where you could just have paint. So...maybe this is just a "wow it's pretty and white" but not actually realistic. I guess it's also an image of a shower with two walls being half-walls. Works for me.
Wow this is gorgeous, so elegant! Takeaways: I like the cool grey, white, wood, black. Main thing that drew me was the black trim on the window haha. The metallic tiles are SO cool. I think that's what made me go "ooh elegant."
The shower caught my eye. Interesting the way there's a half way of white then color above it. Two walls of color (oh interesting, even ceiling!) and two of glass.
Now this is an interesting thing. The way that they left a column in the middle of the shower "wall". To solve the "we can't move the plumbing" problem....??
More pattern behind the mirror? (I assume this is wallpaper, though)? Is this a trend or something???
More "tile behind the mirror"....
Interesting. Another tile behind the mirror wall....
I don't think this shade could work very well with everything else I keep saving BUT GOSH THAT BLUE TILE IS SO PRETTY
Saving as inspirational. I feel like this overall gives a feel that appeals to me while using WHITE cabinetry. I love the countertop and would be happy with something like this if it doesn't up the cost too much. Love the modern mirror - again, it's an obvious mounting of mirror ON TOP of something - is that becoming a thing?? (not that I am a huge fan of the wallpaper). The black wall is cool, along with all the black trim. I think this amount of dark with a primarily light bathroom is my happy place. Also love that my desire for wood tones could possible be met by floor tile???
Gosh this is pretty. Would make me consider dark cabinets.
I know this isn't how it was set up, but what about "framing" the mirror with tile? It seems here that they appear to have tiled the wall then mounted the mirror on top. But then again, if you think this would work, it would make me SO happy to get to enjoy the pretty tile every day - I wouldn't really "look" at it if it were in the shower, like I would if it was used in this way...
I adore the tile on the walls in the shower but since I'm so zellige bent, not sure what to do with that. Because I also love the floor faux wood tile. But I'd be thrilled to have the tile that's in the shower on the floor....
SQUEE I love the tile. Love that it is stacked vertically as well as being smaller than the typical subway tile (has more mosaic-y feel this way?). For whatever reason (also possibly because of framing of photo and/or smaller shower space) it seems less overwhelming of an expanse of dark hue compared to the other one that I recently saved.
While I love the multi-tonal tile, GOSH that's such a huge expanse of that much color/darkness. It overwhelms my eye a bit.
Dislike. Too white/light without either wood, black accents, or colored tile to mix it up.
I have NO idea how this would be implemented, but I love the proportions of wood/light greige/white and the USE OF LIGHT especially filtered/indirect (door glass and recessed lighting in shower shelving).
Dislike. Too stark black/white
I like more stark white better than this. BUT, that tile is an attractive...IDK...hue? shade? color?
Here b/c of the floor but also overall tones/feel. Mostly white, hints of black and accents of dark wood. Painted cabinets. Love the floor (tile?)
Love the blue/grey with the "marble". Curious to figure out where/if we can put natural/wood tones...Maybe mirror frame??
Love the floor tile (grey, stone-ish) and the wall tile (green, multi tonal). Not sure I love them TOGETHER...but look through the other pictures because these tiles are so pretty!
saved for tile but overall bathroom is gorgeous. Might end up running dark in the end, but I love the hue in the close-up at least.
Saved for MCM feel, wood/white/metal/black proportions.
Ooh the blue tile is like a waterfall!
This feels jumbled?!? But overall from a distance, great light/dark/wood/tonal tile. Overall I like the tile a lot. Feels weird with the rest of the room though?
I could also roll with these painted light grey. That huge pattern in the marble/granite/whatever is really pretty. Not sure if I'd love it long term in my own space but I like it from an artistic standpoint.
Very attractive tones overall. Again, dark cabinets, light granite, I could work with this beige instead of grey.
I see the same theme I keep picking LOL. I like the geometric tiles on the floor. Would be interested in some unconventional shapes on floor or in shower IF it doesn't add to the cost too much. I also like the warm(wish) grey here.
I don’t know how to articulate what I like about this. The tones?? wood, light wood, white, subtle black trim accents. GORGEOUS.
Hm. Interesting note - those are porcelain tiles that look like marble.
Actually, my first thought was "a little blah and austere" but I think the proportion of dark/light/white/grey is nice. And that any pattern is more the type of stone variations or simple tile gradations (I.e., ion shower). EWWW on second thought when I see more close-up pictures of the shower tile I -don't- like it. I only like it from a distance not up close
On the subject of a recessed shelf like this - I'd say this is the one way I could see myself using pattern - I like neutral/graded tones on tiles generally, and find large areas of pattern visually unappealing but I like the degree of contrast here.
where possible, it might be nice to have inset shelves like this a) in shower.... is b) on shower/tub wall a possibility?
thoughts on utilizing the tile and ledge? (or is that a bad option if we are going vertical with cabinetry)
Wouldn't want to try and exactly replicate but this is appealing. Tiled walls are excessive; I think I like a dark floor but not necessary. I like black as trim/accents. This has just the right amount of white accented with wood and dark.
This seems to be seamed glass - saving this to note that I'm definitely fine with seamed.
Just generally very aesthetically pleasing even though I can't really point at much besides: lots of white, very soft/light grey on the walls, touch of green, and wood tones. I think I prefer a generally lighter floor tile, too - that may be another thing I'm liking here...
Maybe an inspiration but not exactly like this. Feels very hotel-ish (both good and bad)
Also like this look. Textured floor (probably prefer something that looks more like wood grain but whatever), VERY light walls, painted vanities, and vanity top that looks mostly solid colored.
