“When the family first approached us, they had a modest vision to renovate their existing home. They wanted a fresh look with our studio’s signature creative infusions. The homeowners also wanted to maximise storage without compromising on the aesthetics of the apartment,” says Jannat Vasi, founder and principal designer of Jannat Vasi Interior Design. Since the homeowners were open to design suggestions and altering the layout of the apartment, the designer brought down walls to create more room. The end result was a bright, spacious apartment with plenty of concealed storage.

“Soft organic lines, and muted teal and lilac hues bring a sense of calm and sophistication to the formal living room. Natural light floods this area, reflecting the homeowners’ requirement for a light, bright and easy living space,” says Vasi.

Textured veneer and wallpaper, complemented by marble flooring, create an interesting interplay of material palettes. A monochrome table and sleek floor lamp add to the drama.

“In the informal living room, neutral tones and reflective surfaces evoke understated glamour,” Vasi says. “The clean lines and natural light give a sense of expanse to the area.”
So many things catch the eye here – like this custom red chair with swanky Hermes upholstery.
The wall art and track lighting draw the eye upwards and accentuate the decor without taking up any floor space.
Built-in storage is a clever way to stack more without feeling boxed in.
The storage poses as a neat grid of wall panelling, seamlessly integrating storage cabinets for everything, ranging from glassware to bottles to books, and open niches for the artwork and electronics. The elegant, visually lightweight design packs lots of storage.

“We are proud of the custom-designed bar that is hand-crafted with over 250 pieces of a rare stone,” Vasi says. “Sourced from the finest quarry in Italy, the exotic blue Azul marble bar is unique in form, character and colour. Though designed as a standalone piece, this versatile piece can be dismantled and transforms into smaller components.”
A wall with bold patterns sectionalises the kitchen from the passageway. Muted hues offset the unusual geometric shapes of the artwork and bring balance to the space.

Next to the formal living room is the dining table. Grey Versailles marble brightens the floor underfoot and lends an aura of sophistication.
“We have created a customised art piece by encasing the client’s scarf in glass. To create a sense of cohesiveness, the heavy textured upholstery fabric on the custom-designed dining chairs has a common thread with the art and artefacts in this space,” says Vasi.
The informal living room contains another dining table with a more casual vibe.
The spacious master bedroom radiates a serene energy through its colour pallette of taupe, beige and grey, complemented by gold and silver accents. “Here, you’ll see many interesting patterns and shapes that are characteristic of our innate style. This space feels relaxed and stimulates the senses as well,” Vasi says.
The designer blended functionality and style with defined compartments to keep the home office organised.

In the master bathroom, the muted palette of the marble gets a lift with metal accents in the glass partition and faucets. Mirrors visually expand the space.
