Rand's Ideas
Apparently G likes to feel like she's pooping in the forest.
The use of color here is really cool and unexpected.
G thought the mix of textures here was interesting (she's not in love with the execution, but there are parts that are kind of cool)
Again, the industrial details here are really cool.
G loves everything about this chaos.
The built in storage is really cool here.
G loves these built in shelves.
Colored subway tile is also pretty cool.
The recessed shelf for shampoo bottles!!!
The herringbone tile!!!
Herringbone tile plus contrasting built in shelf.
Really like the subway tile plus the contrasting tile over the sink.
Mid century plus lots of wood and cool accents. Feels like it could work with the rest of the design we like.
Contrasting tile with built in-shelving is really cool here. Also like the dark blue with the gold details and the light tile (don't love the silver fixtures and then the gold frames)
Stylistically interesting - I like how they mixed two building materials and used the rooftop deck
A little boxy, but a workable design given what we want to do (though it looks much bigger than what we're going for)
Just a big rectangle, but a conceptually workable layout for our goals (again too big). I think we'd want to extend the roof up and over the deck to cover it (at least partially) from sun and rain
This Seattle-area home is stunning in every way. I don't think our budget supports it, but getting close to this would be incredible.
I love the concrete blocks as a walking path
Nice privacy fence. I think we're gonna need a lot of fence, but ideally should invest in an attractive one given how much we and our neighbors will be looking at it.
Relatively plain bedroom (the furniture and lighting does the lifting), which I like. Something that has big windows that can be curtained off entirely for total darkness is ideal.
We don't need fancy bedrooms at all, but good windows (so long as we can get them all the way darkened with curtains, would be awesome
Absolutely love this exterior finish/style for the wood walls
This style fits really well in the PacNW
Another option for stairs leading down from top story to ground
We've talked about potentially having a staircase down to the ground floor from the top deck
Kitchen opening to deck. I don't think we need the fancy accordion style doors, though. Sliding door or a simple set of double doors would be fine (G loves the industrial details!).
Some outdoor kitchen/grilling space would be ideal, since we often cook & entertain outside
Love the wood color and texture on this deck.
Living roof is an amazing idea, if the cost fits the budget
Deck out over the back of the house, just like we want. I like how the roof angle butterflies to give extra light. G really likes how it has a mid-century sort of look. It feels like the outside is indoors.
Love the wood elements, and how the industrial details make it feel modern and not too much like a lodge. Really beautiful.
Love the mix of dark wood, black matte finished hearth, and white walls.
If our living room manages to support a bar (probably more like half this size), that would not make me sad.
Great looking living room. I like how it reflects the exterior design of the home, too. That's quite clever.
This is way over the top for us, but DAMN it's cool.
I do love the outline of the stairs done like this. Don't love the missing railing though.
Hidden storage under stairs is cool, too.
Beautiful stairs. We don't need ones this fancy, but gosh they're nice.
Beautiful master bath
