Hydrangeas are nice if they can grow well here. I know that some can get big but they are attractive in the right space. We also like rhododendron / azaleas.

We put this picture in to signify we like roses. This may be planted a little too dense but we do enjoy many of the roses in our neighborhood.

Japanese Maple trees are great! We also like Pistachio trees and Western Redbud trees. Need more summer shade on the west side.

Crepe Myrtle trees are great, multi trunk, bush, dwarf.. We like all of them.

Small fire pit area, ugly chairs though. We are thinking more of going with a propane tank based fire pit unless a gas line makes sense.

Example of what we think looks messy. The plants are too bushy and unruly. This look makes us feel stressed instead of relaxed.
