I like all the natural light. What's the possibility of skylights or light tubes?

The opening into the dining room from the kitchen might work for us. Perhaps the cabinets could open from both the kitchen and the dining room for stemware, etc.

I really like the wood countertop. Not sure how much I'd like in five years after it's all scratched up. but the warmth of the wood against the light cabinets is quite nice.

Like the countertop color and the cabinet color but I think I would like the cabinets better if the tone of the cabinet panels contrasted a bit with the cabinet edges. Either lighter panels and darker edges or lighter edges and darker panels.
