NW2 Kitchen
The inside outside dream.
Our recently completed renovation (same footprint) to our Victorian villa in NW2.
When the glazing is open the light structure by @simple__works allows the roof to appear as a floating heavy box.
We kept as much of the existing extension as possible to minimise waste and reduced costs.
The room benefits from the changing light from the east, south and west.
The planting provides natural solar shading with an extra bit of help with solar glass coatings.
The green roof ensures the view out of the upstairs windows are positively green. The roof is also very attractive to local bees!

After: splash back window behind sink, brings in light, but masks close proximity of neighbours. We went for a handless kitchen to ensure the space looked and felt unfussy. The placement of cupboards and white goods was really important to us. The dishwasher is to the left of the sink, the bin to the right on the island. And the drawers for crockery are opposite to make for easy unloading of the dishwasher. Photographer Emily Marshall
