Orton Skislope Way Cabin Ideas
Maybe something like this at the top of the stairs?
Pretty neat setup here ... seems like a narrower seating area than a bed though ...
Not a fan of the materials, but neat how there is a nice area to sit in under the stairs like this
Kind of cool how these cover the whole wall with stairs up the middle
This is kind of cool looking how it is so beefy looking
This is kind of interesting ... you get the bunks but doesn’t feel so wide open to the hall and probably easier to sleep with your head on one end or the other
Kind of like the simple but rugged look of these bunks ...
Don’t love this exact design with the stone ... but it is interesting to think about how wide this would make the hallway feel as it is open
Not the best design per se ... but this idea of 2 bunks lofted over a queen is kind of interesting for the 3rd guest bedroom
Like the idea of barn door dividers in the game room to create separate areas if wanted ...
Neat triple bunks ...
Like the way the triple bunks here are built into the wall ... with all the ceiling height we will have something like this could work in the third bedroom
This makes me wonder if we couldn’t use the topography to our advantage and sort of step down the hill to create the levels for this firepit area
Kind of like the use of rock and stone for the patio and fire pit
These barn door panels could work well to hide a TV without a lot of complicated motors or electronics ...
This is kind of cool seating arrangement for a theater with the sectional in front and recliners in the back
I like this cozy setup for the game room ... and the multiple TVs are a bit much but also cool for watching sports. Maybe a panel could hide the extra screens when not in use?
Like how just punching out from an existing room could get you space for a bike and a bench (which is really all we need)
I like the idea of a relatively small area where we could put our Peloton, a Treadmill and a small bench ... would be awesome if it could be in a place with some views
Love these windows!
I kind of like how the corner fireplace here works with the entertainment center. Neither the fireplace nor the unit is the design I would choose, just going for the placement here ... this is similar to our current living room
I don't know if I like this or hate this ... but putting the TV over the fireplace can work if the fireplace is low enough and the TV is low enough ... but in my mind I always pictured the TV being on one side on a wall (maybe in a built in cabinet) rather than on top of the fireplace
Here is another small gym idea ... not that we need the mirrors, but I like the setup in that it isnt take up a ton of floorspace and has a dedicated TV setup
I kind of like how they found a little niche somewhere (loft?) where they could put the exercise bike. I think we would be talking about a Peloton, maybe a treadmill and a bench with some free weights.
This general concept caught my eye … the L shape here might allow us to get the garage relatively lower down the hill and closer to the street. I also like how the how extends over the garage, would seem this is a natural way to get more square footage on our steep lot
I like the really large amount of glass on this house on the upstairs and the way it seems to be built on a foundation that might be a basement underneath?
Another example of an L layout …
Another L layout with rooms over the garage …
Really like the double height and windows on two sides (North and West for us). Like the stone fireplace and mantle and the detail on the ceiling here quite a bit. Something like this would be very much what I am looking for in the great room.
Don’t like the fireplace like this at all (prefer classic looking fireplaces off to the side not stoves/modern ones) … but like the high ceiling and double rows of windows here. Also like the way the kitchen flows into the great room to make it one big space for hanging out.
I kind of like how the kitchen here is attached to the great room but offset a couple feet higher … if we did it right, this would kind of give us a stadium effect where the ‘inside’ half of the floor with the great room would also have really great views out the windows over the furniture, etc
Another good example of the ‘big box’ great room. I like the shape of this one but would imagine having glass on 3 sides if possible or at least 2 sides (North and West).
Kind of a neat great room concept. What I like about this one is how the main part of the great room has a really high ceiling, but how there is part of the second story that covers up part of the room to make the rest of it regular height (9ft?). Easier to explain live but the cabin we used to have in Dollar Point had an element like this that was pretty neat
Cool Lockers from a house Mark did up the street from us
