This is too modern for us as a literal design. However it is one of the few modern examples which feel interesting and large-scale enough to be appealing. It could be a combination of the ceiling line, lighting, and what they did with the island. However, I am not sure of the functionality of the ‘terraced’ island. Visually interesting, but unless there is a specific purpose I’m undecided if it is impractical.
Like. Note that this is categorized as ‘modern’ but to me the palette, the wood grains, the lights and chairs, etc. to me make this much more contemporary. Really like the scale. The horizontal uppers are very interesting (consider this approach). Note that this also allows for much more inconspicuous handles on uppers. Handles contrast as needed (e.g. refrig). LIKE chairs. Also, I really like the way they treated the area over the hood. Most designers want to make this a big upward sweep of some ‘thing’. They have de-emphasized - almost hidden the hood. Like this.
Like. Big scales/proportions. Horizontal lines (in white cabinets). Very clean cabinet lines despite the partial overlay (which I don’t think we want). Interesting that exposed shelves don’t feel cluttered, probably because the items displayed there are orderly. DON’T like the spindle-y legs of table.
Meh... Okay. Clean. Like windows. Like the concept of introducing contemporary elements, but don’t like the (specific execution) of the exposed spice jars. That part is too cluttered/sloppy - or maybe just too conspicuous in deviating from the modern. Maybe less extremes, and more moderation of all elements on average.
Bold and clean, but not stark. Like the matte graphite colored cabinets
