Gat Creek was one of the few vendors we have found at High Point with high quality, made in America casework. I'd like to find you a little table with drawers to go next to your corner chair - to make up for losing drawers in the chest we considered there. This one is D19" x W24" x H25.5" https://www.gatcreek.com/tomlin-two-drawer-nightstand PF: #2 of these Gat Creek options
SY January 2020: I still think this might be a good option - the linear/rectangular one. To not compete with your dining fixture. SY: if you keep your fixture over the dining table, we need something simple over the kitchen table so as not to compete. The rectangular fixture shown here is a great, transitional piece. rejuvenation. PF: The practical part of me wonders about how dusty that would get. I do like the simplicity of it. SY: Yep. Like any lamp shade, they'd need dusting.
maybe. 32" diameter. that's the depth of the table. I'd like to find this in something linear/rectangular.
24" LED picture light. PF: nice simplicity here.

I think we're putting alcohol in the storage beneath the left side of the bar, but what will go in the storage beneath the coffee side of the bar? I have it drawn as a shallow top drawer with a door below, but it could be drawers too. Mugs can go in drawers, as shown, with tea options and coffee pods... though I might prefer them above and using this as a junk drawer. You could also call the drawer above the trash your new junk drawer. ..
I am pondering the refrigerator drawer/ice combo for the space saving and cost factors. I am not the most tech savvy but when I searched the internet for this combo, there don't seem to be a lot of options. I am not sure I really need that much fridge space with 2 drawers and like the idea of the ice maker being attached. I am concerned that this doesn't get very good reviews and I can't tell if a wine bottle would fit in this? I looked at the Marvel that you tagged on houzz, but it didn't look like it had an ice combo. Am I missing something here? Additionally, in reviewing the design, I absolutely love all of it, but have a bit of concern about storage of glassware and losing my junk drawer with the removal of the space where my phone and chargers sit. So I wondered if I got more of a combined unit, would it give me a bit more space for another drawer or cabinet below?
What do you think of this one? I think I like the other one better but I am always a sucker for checkerboard print. SY: I prefer the other one. :)
The rug came. We like it!

Champagne Bronze Octagon Knob Forge Hardware
I love these. Champagne Bronze by Forge Hardware Studio.
Forge Hardware Studio
This. Light cabinets, light countertops, champagne bronze knobs, with not as many not pulls.
I like black pulls on white cabinets, and I've considered them for your space because of all the black elements in the adjacent spaces, but this contrast is higher than I think we want in your kitchen.
brass on cream
white cabinets, brass hardware, light subtle countertops (like London Gray)
soapstone with light cabinets and brass hardware.
these look more like champagne colored pulls - not quite so brassy

hm. thinking about lighting over table... this is from rejuvenation. it needs to tie to / not compete with what's over your dining table.... Do you like what you have over your dining table? You also have lots of wall sconces in the great room - your thoughts on those? PF: The sconces have been here since we moved in and I do like them for the extra lighting at times. I know they look dated though. I like this too. I do like the fixture over my dining table. I am partial to things out of nature- leaves, birds.....Again, open to input though. SY: got it. Just needed to know if we needed to play nicely with that dining fixture. We can and will! :)
quartz for backsplash (I'm talking about your kitchen now, and also top of the rolling island). This is nice because it's not white but not gray either. (This is likely marble, but we could see about quartz options in this look.)
these countertops and hardware are bold and beautiful... thoughts about those in your kitchen and bar, and on your rolling island? PF: It is pretty but probably too bold for me. I don't want too much movement in the counter/backsplash. I would tend to want to embrace simplicity on this front. I don't mind the dark countertop and even the gold hardware, but I would want less movement in the countertop. SY: got it!
backsplash = countertop. Always elegant. This lighter marbled effect would be beautiful in your kitchen too. PF: Are the backsplash and countertop the same? I do like this. I know that I loved my countertop that I have when I first got it but now it seems so dated and I hate it. I think it was the popular thing at the time. I am hoping that we have something that is more timeless and that I won't get sick of. Does that make sense. SY: yes and yes, they are the same. I love this effect: so simple and elegant - and easy to clean!
thinking about your countertops and hardware... because what we do in the kitchen needs to tie to what we do in the new space. Thoughts on bluish gray quartz like this, and black hardware? It would tie very nicely to your dark gray accent walls in the dining area, and the black pulls would pick up on all the black accents your living room decorator used to anchor that space. PF: I would be open to it. Would need to see it more closely and would want to know that it would stand the test of time. I do understand that it would be nice to have some tie in with living/dining room area. What kind of backsplash would accompany that? SY: tbd on backsplash, but it's such a little space, maybe we'd just wrap the countertop up the wall for the backsplash. (See adjacent image.)
also nice pulls - these in polished chrome. lovely. PF: nice
To accommodate the file cabinet drawers opening pretty deep, a stool with wheels may be ideal. Pinned on Room Board too.
