5 Indian Bungalows That Live, Breathe Space and Greenery
Take a look at these envy-inducing homes that luxuriate in space and verdure
Gardens and tracts of greenery at home are a luxury mostly associated with stand-alone houses. Homes built on plots of land, big or small, have the advantage of either incorporating vegetation into their design or leveraging the existing green landscape to their benefit. Featured here are a few homes, of varying sizes, that integrate spacious living environs with healthy doses of green.
The most interesting space as per the designers is this living room, which is enclosed in steel-framed glass windows connecting to the outdoor deck. The long deck is conspicuously bare except for minimal furniture, allowing the surrounding greenery to be the real star.
The entire home is a study in neutral palettes mixed with warm wood, and gets its shot of colour from the abundant greenery outside, of which most rooms have a fantastic view, thanks to the glass façades.

The full-length glass in the living room “creates a transparent boundary between the outside and the inside,” say the designers. One of the loveliest features of the house is this semi-covered verandah, which connects the recreational part to the residential wing and is the hub for family get-togethers.
The home features high gabled roofs, giving the rooms a voluminous look. Pastel tones in furnishings and extensive use of light-coloured wooden ceiling beams and window frames add to the light and airy feel of the interiors.

This home on a plot engulfed with neem trees is an ode to space and greenery. The design of the house uses concrete, glass and steel in a minimalist design, which far from being at odds with the green surroundings, makes it an integral part of the scheme. Glass has been extensively used to partition areas, but also to maintain a visual connect with the outdoors.
