Leanne's washroom ideas
Not sure about this but a consideration if there could be an insert fit into the wall above the toilet so that only doors show but there are not set out from the wall like a full cabinet. This could avoid the need for the shelf going across the wall above the vanity (though I do really like the idea of the shelf as it will increase my effective/usable space above the vanity counter that will still be quite small in that space).
Interesting lighting around the vanity mirror. I need MUCH better lighting, including task lighting, in both of my washrooms. But also, I want either a dimmer switch or an option to only put on some of the lighting for those who need to go to the washroom in the middle of the night and even in the morning when one doesn't want to be blasted with full light in the washroom. I do like that this has lights on the mirrors but also pot-lights. Also, what do most people do for mirrors in their washrooms -- I see many without a frame but some with a frame. What is suggested???
Interesting concept for storage space/medicine cabinet beside my vanity in the front washroom. If I could get rid of the jog in of the right side wall where the current medicine cabinet is, and then build a 12" or so set of cabinets to the right of the vanity (moving the sink over to the left more) this would be an option.
I mentioned earlier re. a built-in linen area in the front washroom along the wall where the current towel rack is. Again, if that would not be feasible, if a 12" cabinet could be put to the right of the vanity (moving it over 12") that would allow for storage of linens, etc. Just not sure if I would want these shelves open or with doors to hide the contents.
This is interesting where the shower wall tiles continue into the washroom walls. An interesting concept though likely much more expensive and complicated to do. Again, these shower doors are simple and clean-lined with just a small lip at the base on the floor to step over. I want to minimize this step up (or eliminate it if possible without flooding the whole washroom!).
Again, this is interesting where the shower floor merges with the entire washroom floor. And interesting that the tile wall is carried through in color in the washroom. It does give it a sense of being larger with this approach.
I like the main large wall tile color and grain pattern (not the inset smaller pebble-stone tiles).
Wood cabinet color?
I do like the color and look of these wood cabinets....not sure if I will do white/off-white in the washrooms or something else?? Again, within such a small condo, any other wood would have to be complementary to the kitchen, etc.
A part of me would like a fancy above-counter sink for the front washroom but I'm not sure if that is practical...
Not bad shower tile color and grain pattern.
I like this wall tile color and grain pattern. I wouldn't use the same tile on the floor, though.
I like the grain pattern of the shower wall tiles.
I like the color and grain pattern of the wall tiles, and the floor isn't too bad. Interesting how the floor merges from within the shower area into the rest of the washroom -- this would be interesting to avoid the ugly raised short wall that one has to step over to get into the shower and it would give the washroom a clean and more streamlined look -- could this be done and ensure that water wouldn't move out of the shower stall area??? I do like this look.
This is quite nice both in the color and tiles. Also, is this a medicine cabinet just above the sink/vanity -- I need a solution for my medicine cabinet (or do people not have medicine cabinets these days if they have better drawers and cabinets in the vanity?).
Again, another towel rack option. Is this style always a towel warmer? Or are some just a towel rack?
Here is a towel rack solution inside the shower stall area -- is this a towel warmer/drier and could this work in my washrooms?? I need a wet towel solution in both washrooms.
I like the color and grain pattern of the wall tile and possibly even the floor tile. Not sure what color vanity I would want. Not sure if I want to move away from white/off-white...but if so, what to do for color to complement the rest of my kitchen, etc.
Another stone tile wall in the shower stall -- this may be cool in the front washroom. It would be on the brown-beige tones.
I'm trying to think of how to better use the space above the toilet in both washrooms -- if the counter top that is there now will be gone and I will only put a mirror over the vanity, then would there be more space for a built-in cabinet above the toilet (that could be the medicine cabinet instead of where it is now, if the jog out of the wall in the washroom could be eliminated). Would that make sense?
A cool stone wall of tile would be neat in the front washroom shower area. Or all of it??
This is also a nice tile color and grain pattern.
I guess something like this could be built into the corner of my shower area in the front washroom, as well as in the bath tub/shower area in my master washroom. However, I would put it in a corner so the shelves would work without having to go into the walls.
Again, I like the wall tile color and grain pattern.
I like the wall tile here -- color and grain pattern.
I need a solution for wet towels in both of my washrooms -- now, they are either hung over the shower door or on a door knob for the washroom door and neither is optimal. Is it possible to put in some sort of towel warmer or some additional towel racks either in the shower stall area (in the front washroom) or on one of the walls beside the bath tub/shower stall (my master washroom).
I like the color and look of the wall tiles (assuming they are large, flat tiles and not stone).
Somewhat nice shower walls.
This style isn't too bad if it was on more of a beige color tone. Also, if this shower door swings into the shower that could be something for my front washroom (a door swinging out would not be optimal given the toilet is there and that is right behind the washroom door).
I had saved another photo with a wall of cabinets and drawers -- if that would not work optimally in my front washroom, then could something like the tall cabinet be added to the right of my vanity (with the vanity moving over to the left by however wide the tall cabinet would be)? Again, I have no real linen closet in my place so it would be great to have a space for clean towels, etc.
I like this more streamlined toilet with a much smaller toilet bowl than mine -- I hope I can find something like this for a toilet. Also, it was suggested that I get a somewhat taller toilet bowl/seat.
I need a solution for space for my toiletries in both of my washrooms. Are these inset spaces possible in my washrooms or not? I don't suppose there is room behind my shower walls so then that would warrant bringing a wall forward to create these nooks. Anyway, I need a solution in both the front washroom shower (less space needed) and in the master washroom shower (more space needed as I have more toiletries I keep in the shower area).
In my front washroom, is it possible to build in some sort of cabinets to serve as a linen closet? I do not have dedicated space for towels, etc., and if I could even have a 12" deep cabinet from floor-to-ceiling it would give me a lot more storage space. And it should fit in that washroom as it is long and the space is not well-used. Then the vanity would move over 12" but still could be made a bit wider with better drawers and cabinets below. Then I just need a solution for the medicine cabinet.
The shower walls are nice but not sure if they are tile or what?
Is this a rolling door system or just a stationary glass door?
I like the organization of the vanity drawers and cupboard - they would make the cabinet space more effective than my open-concept cabinet below my front washroom sink.
Not sure what to do with the front washroom shower area -- how would this design prevent water from going all over the floor? And would one not get cold without a full door? Otherwise, the simplicity of it is nice.
I like this for the master bathroom. I like the deep and simple tub.
Another nice contemporary tub but it may have too thin an outer edge to allow for a glass door which I will need as I will still have a shower set-up in the bath area.
