If I could only send one picture, it would be this one. It's the unexpected sofa colour + lampshades that modernise this, along with the modern art. The rest is very un-scary and easy. The floor would need carpet and/or rug. You'd have a modern/funky sideboard / TV cupboard , and maybe a drinks cabinet in one corner (yes! yes!) on the right as you enter the room. Richard Bevan does great antiqued glass/mirrors.

Design interest from lamps and art again, but still comfortable. But white sofas and the occasional dog (sorry Peter) may not work...

Use pics of all of you. Use photoshop to create the colour changes (you may have to pay someone). Get printed onto large canvases. Could be quite amusing.

Incorporate pale pink (I haven't found a nice pale pink sofa in an image yet but will continue...)

Use of unusual colour tones in different colours adds glamour (I think these are odd shades of pink and green)

Great use of funky non matching armchairs to create design interest though they dont' look comfortable. Everything else in this pic is GHASTLY. Maybe...delete.

Tell Peter “Like this!! Like this!!” (though...the swinging chairs ARE exciting...)
