We already have this table in our current kitchen. Building bench seating into the house might be a nice touch.

I like the division of the bedroom into living and sleeping areas. Don’t need the fireplace, though!

Assuming the bed is on the other side of this wall, this also creates good utilization of a larger master bedroom, splitting into living & sleeping areas.
Q

I like the idea of a study/desk niche in the master bedroom.

The use of the windows higher up on the walls provides light and potential air flow while protecting privacy. Would be good to use these on some of the walls in bedrooms.

I like the color of the wood cabinetry.

Shower and tub in the same space.
Q

Like the proximity of the shower to the tub, although not completely combined.

We both really like this style of tub - saw one at a house on Aukai last week. Apparently, there is a specific brand of tub made of synthetic resins that turns the bath water blue somehow... And we also like the tub + shower combo for the master suites.

Probably prefer a longer and slimmer island, but this is a decent example of how it could be used if we have an L-shaped kitchen rather than a longer single-counter kitchen.
Q

Want the range/stove to not have shelves and cabinets above/near it.
Q

Like the length of the island, but not the other elements. Too many cabinets above the counter, and too low, too (crowds the counter).
Q

Like that the kitchen gives a view to the outside. Also, if you exclude the sink in the island, we like how it and the kitchen are arranged overall. Don’t want cabinets over the stove or maybe even next to it, but still need plenty of storage space.

Some of this looks like it could be incorporated into a lanai.

Entryway and view that passes through to the garden/pool. Staircase also looks interesting.
Q

Like the entryway. We prefer to have something that provides cover to those going in/out, although we don’t need that to extend to the driveway.

Interesting lanai idea
Q

We like the flow of the roof into the lanai area.
Q

Nice way to bring the home out into the garden, but probably too blocky.
Q

Great way to get the kitchen, living and dining all looking into the private garden space.
Q

Entryway looks like it could used for our home, since it incorporates a small courtyard. Depends on how far toward the street we want to push the home and how we orient the garage.
Q

Too much wood, but we like the multiple planes of the roof lines and the style overall.
Q

I thought the roof here made the contemporary look less severe than having only flat or sloped roof lines. This brings it a bit toward more of those contemporary island homes that you find around Kahala (Pyramid does a lot of them, and they tend to have pyramid-shaped roofs).
Q
Photo
We like being able to see into the house a bit from the entryway, although it maybe doesn’t work as well for us, as we don’t want it viewed from the street and also too much sunlight may be coming in.
Q

The roof or overhead covering maybe isn’t good for us (want something solid, and this appears latticed, but we like how there is a wall for the lanai extending up into the roof, and that this incorporates some seating area as well as cooking/dining.
