Spiral Stairwell
Smooth framing the lower edges seems safer forehead hits.
I like that this apron keeps the open/airy feel because of the cutouts. As essentially an all metal spiral staircase (barring treads), I quite like the lines of this one.
Neat handrail! We can’t do this, I know. The treads extend to allow the odd angles.
What’s the reason we can’t have an interior handrail?
The center post essentially is the handrail! I wish I could see a different angle on this stairwell, too.
Very open and airy, but without sharp corners to smack a forehead into. Nice!
Interesting. I’ve been wondering what it would look like to build bookshelves under the lower stairs, following the curves.
I really like the open core post, where a twisting center rail is all that is left of the post.
The lines on this inserted staircase look really pretty - maybe we should have the first step situated forward of the inset area in the wall. That would also raise the height of the first step protruding from the stairwell area wall, right?
