If you were looking at modern concrete walls, the diagonal on the concrete counter top is pretty cool. The wood warms up the grey and charcoal. Not a dramatic splash back tho.

An alternative to a big bi-fold where the single door and slider is now, is a large corner bi-fold. The current single door could then be a full pane of glass window. The whole corner could open.

Concrete and high ceilings with mezzanine removed. We can definitely talk about concrete and other surfaces. It's a much more modern approach than what's there now but can work as we start planning.
