When it comes to bathroom organization, the vanity is most often the workhorse storage solution. But there are many options to consider when choosing a new vanity — or organizing the interior of the one you already have. The following are some of my favorite ways to get your vanity looking and working beautifully, from the inside out.
This isn’t a new flash in the pan as much as a style trend that continues to grow. Contemporary and transitional (halfway between contemporary and traditional) bathrooms tend to have a neat and tidy built-in appearance, in contrast to fussier traditional styles. This master bathroom was a nightmare prior to construction. It is a long, narrow space with an exterior wall on a diagonal. I was able to add a water closet by taking some of the bedroom walk-in closet and also added an open shower complete with body sprays and a linear floor drain. The cabinetry has an electric outlet and pull outs for storage. I changed the large windows to higher awning windows to work with the style of the house.
This 42-square-foot bathroom offers a lot of great ideas for a small bathroom. The wall-mounted faucet frees up space on the compact vanity for a large rectangular vessel sink. Plus, wall-mounted fixtures are easier to clean around than those mounted on countertops.
