Low-Maintenance Decking designed to withstand strong UV rays, pool chemicals and is resistant to scratches and scuffs from pet claws, stones caught in the soles of shoes and furniture legs. Unlike timber, aluminium decks do not require sanding, staining or painting. They also withstand stains from entertaining and spills, meaning you can spend more time relaxing on and enjoying your deck rather than maintaining it. “Aluminium decking is so low-maintenance that all it should need is a wash using a hose or high-pressure attachment twice a year with a pH neutral detergent to remove any stains from foot traffic, trees or wildlife If you live in or near a bushfire-prone area – and even if you don’t – non-combustible aluminium decking can be far safer and more suitable than traditional timber decking. Tell us about the striking staircase We used timber treads to add warmth and softness to the home’s interior. We chose open treads in order to allow natural light to flow though to the downstairs living space. Adding perforation to the rear of the stairs satisfies the client’s industrial bent. We ran one stair to the wall to create a cosy desk area.
Location: Alexandria, NSW Architect: CplusC Architectural Workshop Why we love it: This is a stairwell with a twist, in more ways than one. The stairs themselves have won us over – three steps up and they change – and the semi-circle protruding from the main structure brings in enough light for an oasis of plants. Nice stairwell, seating, front door. railing, slats etc
laundry day would surely be far more pleasant with a view like this. Maybe - have this as the mud entrance to the house - that goes across the southern / SW side - then enters thru the middle to the house. Could be accessed after swimming - housing a shower, toilet, laundry for towels, and then a glasshouse structure on the north side - to serve as a propagating room etc.
Hooks and long storage underneath
