Roof lines and Front doors
like varied ceilings and roof; I like not having focus on the roof from standing on the ground, not a fan of the exterior rock/stone;
not sure about all these lines with such panes in the window, a bit much for my taste
symmetry and balance
symmetry and balance, clean lines
front door
midcentury roof
interesting use of courtyard
color of windows Wonder how sun treats all that wood
symmetry, balance, and welcome structure, not too in your face
roof line and blend into environment, no color or shape stands out
frank Sinatra desert house entry
varying roof line
front gates/doors double doors seems more of a statement to me but so often people don't use both doors
Obama front door in Martha Vineyard
Dramatic, like the double door. How do we open these doors? Doors stand out by definition of border. Bugs? how to ventilate house? Matt--crazy idea: double glass doors in front and back???? but is that too cold. Or maybe the double ones in front are wood and double ones in back are glass to keep the windows the same size on both sides of the great room. Hard to find various good front door pictures on the web
Border around glass door makes it clear what it is.
The wood makes a clear statement where the door is with all the glass and adds warmth upon entry. Like the double doors.
not sure where front door is
Can I open such a door when I am 90???
interesting double doors
door leads the eye to the entry and blends with the ceiling. Door same size as the glass panels on either side
Solid door makes a statement of art and command....doesn't feel too comfy or warm The side doors look much easier to use than the front big heavy door
see right through out the back.....somewhat like our design; stationary glass on both sides of door
Think the front door needs to be in harmony with whatever we do with the front "gate" which for us may well be our "front door". I included this photo to remind me to think of both at the same time: front door/gate into the courtyard and front door/entry into the great room.
Wood door stands out even though simple in design, BUT the door looks so little with all that glass around it. Do not like all the black border of the glass
wood door connects with the wood in the overhead.
off line....looks too little
like the wood with the glass
way too much wood, too large with all that little glass around it
door looks hidden
Do I look at the stairs or the front door?
front door looks minor over there on the side
both wood and glass
