Kitchen
layout, ceiling, lights
storage wall that belongs with the previous picture
this layout seems simple and efficient with most of the storage pushed to a wall to the left, no uppers
where do we put the cleaning supplies?
that marble island would be plenty of work space, and I like that they spun the table in the other direction and integrated it. would need one that could expand to accommodate more people
the concept of a half waterfall island (not the way this specific one looks!), allows you to sit across from each other at the corner if you wanted
half waterfall island
marble, and those drawers!
marble, wood and blackened steel
Steve bought this sink at a garage sale for cheap, not sure what to do with it though
efficient looking layout
integrated table
cement counter. too much cement with cement floors?
layout with the dining quite close to kitchen, although you probably can't seat people on the island side of the banquette table. should have skipped that cement cut that the stools are on
cool backsplash
wooden countertop discussion
This is a nice piece of wood. Steve likes butcher block (probably mostly because it's cheap), but I worry about it with heat and water and potentially bacteria. Also he would definitely cut directly on it. And it seems like you'd have to oil it/maintain it often. Might work at the bar area though? I like wood cabinets better than painted - too much wood if we also had some butcher block counter?
wood and marble
just looks nice/pop of color under the island
Marble counters, and those drawers!
A marble topped work area (larger than this one probably) and butcher block eating area might be nice. No butcher block by the stove and sink though
I do really like the look of marble and this Eureka Danby is less porous than some granites. Do I care if it develops a patina?
thunder white granite. generally don't like business/glossiness of granite but this is decent...
also a neat granite. river white?
under cabinet lighting
pantry with pullouts
open but separate
open but the living room feels separate from kitchen
freestanding stainless steel table as island/peninsula? cheaper than counter tops but you lose the storage space.
definitely not this style, but a pullout spice rack near stove? not sure the best place to keep spices, we have a lot and they're all on open shelving now which is terrible
hmm. 140 sq ft kitchen plus 100 sq ft for dining area. a separate dining table looks more satisfying to me but the banquette just seems so efficient and you can add storage beneath the bench
this is only 140 sq ft
a space for cutting boards and cookie sheets
lid drawer
a place for lids!
cup drawer?
would a cabinet like this accommodate dishes/plates and appliances for us? could maybe get away with one for those things and one for food and not need too much else for storage
blackened steel
hood. limestone backsplash

variation on charging drawer
spin and pullout shelves in corner cabinet?
alder cabinets with walnut stain
