Wish your living room were 50 per cent bigger than it is? With a few design tricks, you can make it feel like it is. And you don’t even have to take down a wall. Try these tips for tweaking your colours, furniture, window treatments and more to make your living room look and feel bigger.
1. Use plenty of light colours
You’ve probably read that painting your walls white or another light shade (like soft grey or subtle taupe) can help a room look bigger, and that’s definitely true. But you can make this effect even more powerful by using similarly airy shades for other furnishings as well.

You mentioned some good points, but first you should check your architectural plan to see if the shape and form of your space allows these changes or not.
Can you tell me please where to urchase the shelf/storage system shown in #12.
I have a narrow and limiting living room space (3.5 mtr wide) so what I did was to connect the sofa with one solo chair and put the row facing the entry door. That tricks the eyes to a wider space. The rest of the sala set pieces are across and provides a bigger distance from the center coffee table. I've tried other numerous arrangements before with my existing pieces and this one appeals to me the most due to an optical illusion 👍
