first option for layout of main living areas: island with seating on three sides, no sink in island, table legs on all four sides, kitchen layout, you can go to John Kraemer builders website to see more pictures of this house. we like the layout but no dining room in living room. dining room where seating area is.
I like the exterior character of this house and also like many things about the layout. Change colonial style to New England shingle style, although I really like this home.
beautiful breezeway if we need one to connect
two story garage with possible inlaws suite above
dining room with windows on three sides to look like sunroom, columns on corners of sunroom instead of siding?, trellis over living room windows/doors
round columns, oval windows
beautiful french doors and windows on both sides
fireplace mantel extends from fireplace to built in storage cabinets, tv over fireplace
drawers next to dishwasher for dishes
fireplace mantle extends across built in storage
windows tie into molding
width of sidelights and front door
Hendel homes to view more pictures. I really love the New England Coastal syle homes with cedar shingles, round columns, oval windows, etc. but for some reason I keep going back to this house as well. I can pick out certain features I like about it that I think it has in common with the new England coastal. I like the shape and lines of this house. I do not like the brick/stone mix or how dark the exterior is.
curved roofline of dormer
coffered ceilings tie into crown molding in living room
Cape Cod style exterior
second option for layout of main living area: dining room location
second layout option of main living area: opening into kitchen/dining room where the kitchen is hidden behind wall
second layout option of main living area: kitchen layout, would like sink someplace other than the island if possible
you can go to architect Mitch Wise design to see more pictures of this home, we like the layout of living room, kitchen, dining room, second living room/screen porch at angle
area for built in desk? not a priority
L, shallow U, straight shaped staircase with open ceiling. do not like when the railing runs into the wall. like the open feeling
windows, coffered ceilings
doors to the left of dining room/ kitchen with place for grill
screened porch off the side of the house so doesn't impede view of water from inside main living areas.
living room furniture setup with two couches, and two chairs
rectangle dining room table that seats 8 (9-10' table?) 4' left on all sides of the table. more if table backs to island with seating, make sure dimensions of dining room will fit an area rug under table
kitchen, dining room, living room setup, distance between island and dining table should be wide to accommodate having people sitting at both at the same time and still be able to walk through comfortably since it will probably be a major hallway through house
eyebrow entrance (may be too much money for our budget?), oval windows, corbels and recessed lighting on garage
would like to have extra appliances such as microwave, second oven?, toaster, freezer/2nd fridge located in pantry along with room for overflow storage
open area underneath bench, stained wooden bench, drawers and countertop, door leading directly into mudroom
screened porch
