Stairs Indoor Semi-final Ideas
Although this is a curved staircase, it could be done as a straight staircase. I like the extended step with the curved edge at the end of the stairway. I like the simple spindle for openess. I like the simple Newal post rather than multiple spindle around the newal post at the end of the railing. I prefer to see the edge of the stair tread exposed along the side (although this staircase looks lovely.)
I don't feel that this is the best style for our house, but it does show a good approach to continuing the stairway from the top railing.
Don't like this
Newel post is too heavy for the style
This railing is a little too heavy
I find this look too much of a colonial look.
I prefer not to have visible hardware supporting the glass.
I like the simple hand rail and glass balustrade without and visible hardware. I like the simple newel post at the end of the upper staircase.
I like the simple handrail and the the glass balustrade without any visible hardware.
I like the simple railing and the glass balustrade that does not have any hardware showing.
I like the extended bottom stair and the newel post at the end of the staircase.
Although this is a spiral staircase, the style could be applied to a straight staircase with an extended curve stair at the end. I like the simple spindles and support of the end of the handrail.
I like the simple railing I particularly lkie the extension of the bottom stairs and the simple curve at the bottom of the right hand railing without too many spindle supporting the endof the rail. (Love the marble stairs and floor!)
I like the extended bottom step and curve of the last few botton stairs. I like the square turn without a newel post. I would prefer not to have a newel post at the top of the stairs.
I like the simple handrail, and spindles the extended stair on the bottome step the curve of the last two steps I would prefer not to have a newel post at the top corner, just a corner on the railing as it joins the railing around the opening in the upper hall. I think a simple newel post at the botton in the same wood as the railing (as seen in the first picture would be nice.
If glass is used rather than spindles, I would prefer that visible hardware is not used to secure the glass (as in this case). I don't know if it is possible to have the edge of the stair treads visible in this case.
This shows how the railing on the left side could begin at the end of the wall part way down the starcase. In our case, the right hand side would be a straight was without a railing.
We need a gate to match and fit the stairway.. Can it me done so that you don't notice whaere the gate attaches when the gate is not in place?
