The front door leads to a family room. The double-height windows open up views to the lush outdoors and allow plenty of natural light in, making this a bright, welcoming spot in which to spend time in. “To design this space, we specially handpicked and sourced all the furniture and lighting from abroad to give the area a smart, sophisticated look. To break the uniformity of the seating, we added a wooden chest that we made on site,” Tosar says.

The living room is a warm, muted space enhanced with multiple (imported) seating pieces for large gatherings. “A slight wash of light animates the textured gold-leaf mural that is set upon the leather-finish Italian marble feature wall. The armchairs have a floral pattern running over them and that is the sole graphic feature of this space,” says Tosar.

The dining room follows a soft palette similar to that of the living room – brightened with a punch of lively colour from the plates on the sideboard. Glittering elements lift the look of the area. “The dining space breaks into a less solemn gathering area,” says Kavalya, and points out the playful mural in white, beige and hints of orange. A suggestion of floral elements there brings a sense of homeliness. He continues: “The dining table has a polished white stone top with deep-brown teak legs. The chairs are regal in presence but sport a playful profile and an even more playful dragonfly pattern in upholstery. A contemporary chandelier that is put together with plumbing pipes and lanterns influences the feel of this semi-formal room.”

“The master bedroom has an urbane feel owing a backlit feature of Italian marble with gold work done on it. The rest of the details are done in gold, beige and wood,” Tosar says

The master bathroom is a soft, soothing space that spells understated luxury. “We made the vanity on site. For a plush look, we clad the floor and wall in Italian marble,” says Kavaiya

For the grandparents’ room (who visit often), the designers choose a soothing, warm palette. “We specially designed the bed and all the other furniture on site. The bedback has a textured wallpaper and the decorative pieces are made out of fibre and finished in dual paint,” Tosar says.
This kids’ bedroom is a quirky, sporty space. “The main wall has a wood-textured wallpaper upon which various signage frames are hung. The bed has an interesting grey partition parapet running through it, in order to “divide the territory” for both the boys, while still keeping them in the shared space of a bedroom. Their seating furniture is in a funky mustard shade, with lots of quote-covered cushions,” says Kavaiya.
The glassed-in outdoor seating area in the garden has a snug, comfortable vibe thanks to the sectional and the high back chairs. “The light grey slowly recedes against the surge of beige in the flooring. Here a gold and beige furniture set is placed below the rich brown pergola,” says Tosar.

For the entrance of the home, Kavaiya and Tosar decided to have a warm, earthy aesthetic. “A teakwood door stands solemnly on the edge of the porch, banked by a contemporary mural, in yellow sandstone, of a herd of elephants,” says Kavaiya.
