Little Skookum Inlet House
Just looking at ways to get around the foot print issue. KS We will need to get a reading from the building department on what kind of overhangs and eaves we can have beyond the footprint. Correct. We will get into that right off the bat. KS We've confirmed that any overhangs cannot extend beyond the existing roof area.
All of this is amazing!! And using all the materials we have been talking about. KS Very nice and open feeling with good inside and outside feeling.
Tansu stairs. Really like that.
Looks like a restaurant type kitchen. The veneer plywood ceiling is nice as well (vs. sheetrock).
Floating stairs. I've done a stair like this in the past. Tough to get the 'no handrail' feature to pass final inspection :)
Cool materials. I like the walkway working around the room. It could make room for little private places...
Hanging stairs. Light and airy..
OMG!
Just more aesthetic ideas.. Very ship-like.
More cozy..
Whooo Ahhhh....
Boat in the house. #2

I don’t know what’s going on here, but I like it.
Barrel vault is nice and cozy. Agreed-KS
Love this Idea... but a little kitschy. Yes, it can easily slip into a Disneyland/Kitschy realm pretty quickly-KS
Wow. Are you cool with exposed steel ducts like this? It can be done well.-KS
I like the recycled boat hull. It could also be used as facia somewhere else possibly..
I like the blue and white contrast. And those drawer pulls Yes Please!
Interesting. I’v never seen a set up like this..
Great space saver.
This is a sliding glass door with manual wheel and chain driver. Love this, too. -KS
Wood structure with steel tension rods.
KSA Project. Zero maintenance exterior. Cor-Ten steel, galvanized and powder coated steel, aluminum bar-grating 'gangplank' entryway.
Living on the water with low-zero maintenance exterior.
Marine grade plywood interior walls for durability, as an alternative to sheet-rock.
Exterior 'living room' under cover. Storage Bench seat idea.
KSA project. restaurant type kitchen. Durable, open shelves, easy access to everything.
Just had to throw this in. Re-purposed ship hulls.
When I saw Paul's comment, 'fishing from my living room' I thought of this photo.
Anne's mention of Japanese fishing villages and Paul's love for living on the water...I post this more for the spirit of the project, not necessarily for it's materials and form. I do find it interesting how the people or culture is accepting of natural weathering.
A barrel vault roof running the long direction of a rectangular floor plan.
