Doug & Vicki's Lake House
This one caught my eye...probably without the big sunroom on the front, but the shape of the house is something to cogitate on...more space upstairs with the dormers makes for a different feel. Footprint looks a little smaller. Less space on the kitchen/Living/Dining, but could still feel like enough knowing that you have downstairs and upstairs. Siding could be natural wood w/ less modern windows. Just thinking "shape". Also, I love how the stair case winds behind the fireplace. Exterior pics should pop up to the right of this image.
I don't know why, but this one speaks to me. Maybe the cathedral ceilings aren't necessary? The idea of lower ceilings feels cozy to me. Just a thought. Vicki: This is cute and cozy. I like the bump out at the entrance which makes it more interesting. I like the stone on the bottom and wood siding on top. We like the big open space with cathedral ceilings, but then we would need wooden beams or something interesting. If there was a big difference in cost savings with lower ceilings it would be a consideration.
Another angle of the more rustic lake house I love. What do you think? hard to picture with cedar siding, but I think it would be neat like that too.
This is the house that came to mind when you were describing your vision...without the log siding probably, but possibly some other features and I love the green accent and stone choice.
Farmhouse kitchen...I've always loved this shot with the fun splashes of color
too rustic?
Just for inspiration. Maybe too modern.
More rustic...less stone of course.
If there's enough in the budget for rock work at the end...
Wide-plank Beadboard (Farmhouse feel) w/ knotty floors
Possible Screened in structure down by the lake? Or part of main house.
color scheme...without wheels ;)
