What a unique space! From practicality's point, I can't see this working for me - but it wound up being such an awesome space for this user! Overlooking the dining room, those big windows allow light to travel through the space and I can also appreciate that the bed is placed at the other end of the room so they still have privacy! I also love the wall art continuing from one floor to the next!
One of the few rooms where I think all beige and white can work really well! The mix of materials really gives the space depth, and the play on volume of pieces, like the oversized ceiling light and chunky pendants are a creative touch. This space doesn't speak to me, but I think if you take the client's shoes into account - this is probably her perfect fit!
This speaks to my love of contrast deeply. I think this is such a great way to meet my need for that dichotomy without the entire room being dramatically decorated. The pale blue is something I wouldn't have thought of but it makes this room so classic. This space will keep inspiring me to reach outside my box.
Wow does this have color and texture! Unfortunately this space makes me think it's more of a show piece for a magazine cover than someone's relaxing retreat. But man does this space make an impact! You tell me if it's a good or bad one!
Those beige walls again. Some people are just not willing to part with them! So it's important to me to have images like this one where the space can work in spite of a bland background - even compliment it! Bonus points to the sputnik chandelier though!
I just love the texture in this image. Everything in this space makes me want to touch it. Design is so influenced by materiality!
I think this is probably one of the only successes to come out of the shabby chic movement. It seems funny to me now that it was so great then, and now it makes many designers recoil! Tying those elements in with a touch of simplicity can keep the style classic through the years.
Another inspiration for my guest bedroom - can you guess what color it is? I love the textures giving this simple room an elegant statement.
Beautiful! What teenage girl wouldn't love to have a private princess balcony for a bed? Plus, tucking away the bed leaves so much room for other hobbies and interests.
