Den Entertainment/Focal-point
Like the good utilization of vertical wall space to provide storage, although don't like the idea of open shelving.
Maybe more vertically-oriented shoji-screen, accordi-style doors would be a better option for a tall media wall cabinets.
Really like the really tall, accordion-style, folding shoji doors.
Like the narrow, horizontally-oriented, accordion-style folding doors on the right-side of photo.
Swinging (instead of sliding) shoji doors may be just as functional & easier to install, e.g. less expensive(?).
Interesting wall coverings, c/would also make interesting media storage doors too.
Not overly fond of the wood-grain coloration, but really like the idea of "blacking-out" any display/storage cabinets to make display items "pop" (with/out accent lighting).
Not exactly sure about the red color, but I was wondering if den paint color should be on the ceiling as well as on the walls to help lower the ceiling height?
Love the pop of red color from not only the shelving units, but also the shoji screens.
Would normal room-height, crown-molding make out den seem smaller?
Love the painted coffered ceilings. Do the ceiling-to-floor length drapes also help lower the ceiling height?
Do the window treatments, e.g. drapes help deaccentuate the room height, i.e. help create the illusion of bring the celing height down?
Would large artwork hung really high visually help bring the celing height down in our den?
This is one of the few vignettes that is actually fairly close to the overall scale/feel of our den; it's only missing the TV/entertainment/storage unit on left side of room.
The blue-painted paneling seems to unify the space w/all the accessories accent/mirroring the same color.
Blue color seems to unify the space & make it seem smaller/cozier/intimate.
Like how the blue-painted shelves seems to make the space more intitmate.
Like how the blue-painted shelving unit seems to make the space seem smaller/cozier/intimate.
The blue color helps to unify the overall space.
Again, the brown-painted shelving unit seems to make the space seem smaller/cozier/intimate.
Like how the color of the shelving unit/walls seems to unify the space.
Not sure I like the dark ceilings, but we need something to make our den feel smaller.
Really like the light-colored, wood-grained paneling.
No, it's not the raised, glass countertops, I'm interested in; it's the smaller-scale, semi-opaque shoji screens.
Like the light-colored woodgrain cabinets.
Again, really like the light-colored wood grain of the cabinetry.
Really like the lighter-colored woodgrain of the cabinets.
Can't afford it, but really like what they did w/the 2nd floor bump-out & like the horizontal linearity of the built-in shelving/storage/TV unit.
Really like the shoji-like gallery railings above den.
Really digging the wood ceilings, but probably more expensive than coffering.
Can't afford it, but love the tongue-groove wood ceiling tx.
Does the pink/beige-painted beadboard celing make the room height seem smaller?
Like the ceiling beam details.
Can't afford it, but really like suspended, architechtural beams!
Really cool dark, ceiling beams/coffering,
Love the contrast of the dark coffering vs. light/white ceiling color; helps lower the scale of the room height.
Absolutely love the coffering + blue-painted beadboard ceilings!
Really like deep coffered celings.
Again, can't afford them, but love the really deep coffered ceilings w/the dark-colored, ceiling paint.
Does a tray-ceiling (w/uplighting) help bring a tall ceiling height down?
Really like the deep coffering.
Can't afford them, but absolutely love the complimentary plaid-painted coffered ceilings!
Not sure if those are recessed blinds or not, but would like that feature in den over lower windows.
Semi-opaque, cell-style window tx's that can be rolled up/down would be a good lower window tx.
Not sure (don't think we need to move TV over fireplace).
