For guest house?? Possibly called Pequot??
Cabinetry/island and countertops just the reverse of our choices for guest house kitchen. We have gloss white perimeter cabinetry with faux marble quartz counters; and light wood finished island cabinetry with dark gray countertops. Backsplash is the same white zellige style tiles but I chose matte finish instead of gloss.
The stone on fireplace is Eldorado cultured stone and could be a good fit outside on the guest house/garage. Don't know the name of this Eldorado stone?? Described by designer as "warmer cream hues that resemble sandstone.... not too grey and not too yellow." Wonder how it would look against the grayish aged wood garage doors.
For guest house bathrooms- like clean look of top pulls on cabinetry. Using similar Moroccan tiles.
Pullout Pop-up bed for the guest house bonus room
This space has many of the elements that we'll have in our back house. Shared space requiring divisions, Back counter and island counters different colors, island is wood look vs. surround cabinets in white, ceiling beams... all with large sliding windows along a big wall.
Also like the use of deep blue cabinetry here, but have to be careful because you're then locked into that color in the room. Like the light fixtures too.
like the warmth of light wood cabinetry mixed with clean white. Interesting use of horizontal wood grain on island.
Light wood island with white cabinets surrounding... very much like our plan for guest house. Here they used grey counters for both. We plan white quartz marble on surround with smokey black faux slate on island top.
more Balboa guest kitchen
Balboa guest Kitchen - very similar elements here compared to our plan. Lighter wood island but with a dark top. White perimeter cabinets with stainless steel appliances. Lighter vinyl wood floors.
Like the white cabinetry with dark countertops and Greyson floors and rustic beams
Guest house kitchen - like light floors, white cabinets w/ dark counter mixed with wood island w/ light countertop.
guest house bonus bath. Like tile color with white surround.
guest house: like the dark perimeter countertops w/white cabinets, mixed with white top on blue island along with the light wood floors. Do not like the chevron tile pattern on backsplash
guest house
guest house: like the casual beach look of weathered wood and floors and beams

For Balboa guest bath. Like the blue vanity (Soft Pumice by Dunn-Edwards paints) and profile. Like the plumbing fixtures and the look of black matte finish here BUT think polished nickel is more practicle and would also look clean and attractive. Really like the quartz countertop too. Do NOT like the subway tiling in shower.
Garry likes this ceiling. Like the sliding barn door too.
I like beadboard ceiling, Garry not sure, but he likes the millwork on the moldings and walls. I think regular headboard might be a more casual look on walls. I also like the dark wall paint coupled with white trim and wainscoting.
Like the dark painted island with light countertop against the dark countertop on the white cabinetry around perimeter. Like that island does not have extra support legs for countertop overhang. Like the light fixtures. Do NOT like glossy backsplash. We generally like this kitchen except that it's too formal. Need cabinetry and lighting to be more casual (Shaker style) beachy style to match our floor selection. The material at the Kitchen Island is a quartzite called "Florida" imported and fabricated by Delta Granite and Marble, Inc. in San Antonio, TX
Like the light fixtures over island. Don't want the open shelving because too difficult to keep neat and attractive.
Like the ceiling beams, the matching sink and island countertop with contrasting countertops around the perimeter .
Like the wood tray ceiling for the big house. The contrasting colors between the island and rest of cabinetry.
Also like these painted blue cabinets with white tops and dark floors. Don't know practicality of dark floors though
Balboa guest house. This looks like painted wood, but still lighter
Balboa guest house kitchen. Same interest as earlier pic. Also, like the beams shown here possibly for family/ kitchen/dining area.
Balboa kitchen idea. Light stained cabinetry with white tops. Also like beams shown here.
This bedroom is painted in Benjamin Moore's Quiet Moments 1563, which is best paired with a crisp white.
Like the blue cabinets, soft white counters w/ glass pendant lighting.
This article suggests using solid quartz or matte cement as a more contemporary option. Quartzite allows for more motion in the piece if desired.
This is a good article to help select countertop color. I like the classic black & white or painted grey or blue cabinetry with appropriate soft white or muted charcoal counters.
I like the classic black & white or painted grey or blue cabinetry with appropriate soft white or muted charcoal counters.
Like the use of quartz and quartzite and matte cement for kitchen and bath countertops.
Winnetka kitchen - gives idea of what kitchen might look like with white/light uppers along with dark painted lower cabinetry and stand alone wood pieces.
For Winnetka kitchen - update by repainting cabinetry.. This is option to painting ALL white. Lower cabinetry painted in Benjamin Moore "Galvaston", uppers in Kelly-Moore "Swiss Coffee". The wood floors were restained in a charcoal gray finish.
Balboa Guest bath and 3rd for bath. Like the continuous countertop across top of toilet to provide additional counter space.
Balboa kitchen. Like the gray weathered accent wall of wood cabinetry and how it works with the white.
Balboa kitchen. Like the white cabinetry and counter with navy island.
Balboa laundry room - like the simple cabinetry and the splash of interest in the wallpaper. Also, like the floor with the darker slate-like tile which should be easy to clean. A standard aluminum sink or fiberglass working sink would be fine and would like to reuse the old washer/dryer side-by-side units that we currently have in our main house. Countertops should be an inexpensive Caesarstone or equivalent.
Like the idea of adding highlights to white kitchen via painted wood island cabinetry or stained wood accents
For Balboa. Like the simple trim around the doorframe.
For Balboa. Possible ledge along back of tub/shower, but need room for the extra length.....
For Balboa. Might like the possibility of a ledge wall along one side or back of shower instead a niche.
Black pebble with grey grout for master bath and niche
