Hirons Idea Book
Nice cabana. This is a good time to remember we want the cabana/garage to store outdoor furniture in the winter, hold two cars, pool equipment 1.e. pumps, heater, filters..., bikes, toys, outdoor shower. We will want a bathroom, shower, changing room in the house directly accessible to the pool or to have this in the cabana. Similarly either the kitchen to be immediately accessible to the pool in the house, cabana or a smaller outdoor kitchen. Definitely a place to grill, smoke meats and cheese and smoke cigars.
pool and hot tub combined or aligned
Great pool and deck
We would like to have a covered walk from the garage to the house so that we do not have to shovel the walk before coming in or deal with showers.
Lighting at night is extremely important with cool lighting for outdoor ambiance and motion sensor lighting to blind uninvited visitors. Love the shaded walkway if a full walkway from garage to house is not in code.
Another example of a covered walk connecting the garage and the back of the house.
Another example of a covered walkway.
This is a great example of a deck that runs right up to a narrow pool.
Another example of a deck surrounding a private pool with a great use of permanent sun shade which might extend or connect the house and garage.
We want to build and position the house to block the view of the pool from the neighbors' windows. We are very keen on a back set of double covered porches.
Lovely. This is an interesting blend of contemporary and beach elements. Tough call on whether to screen the lower porch. With this design it would be a sin. maybe screen the back top porch?
Love the outdoor living area and back patio overlooking the pool. Our pool would be much smaller.
How sweet to have a bedroom open up on the patio/pool. This would need to be connected to the house. I think I'll swim. I think I'll take a nap.
Interesting narrow house front with double porch. If the third floor had a view of the downtown and is permitted -- that would be interesting.
Nice contemporary execution. Really torn on whether the exterior should be contemporary or have a beach character. If contemporary we want to elevate the materials and design over much of the contemporary being done. We have a fondness for corner windows and clerestory lights as a my first home featured these.
Love the look -- hip roof, small pool, Steel roof, great porches. Several houses on this street have stacked/covered porches. Interesting for both front and back. Trade offs are financial and setback from the front. 12K price differential?
Steel hip roof, full double covered rear porch
This is very interesting to us that the pool extends under the back porch. Possibly a pool separated with a hot tub at this end could be an interesting way to get more on the lot. Interested in how we might use a solid walkable cover.
A wood burning fireplace on the back porch would extend its use through the seasons and probably get more use than a fire pit.
Built in seat ..need one!
