Your entrance, such as the front door, foyer, passage, gate and so on, sets the stage for what’s inside. There are so many ways to make this space more inviting and aesthetically appealing – be it with a splash of bold colour, structural embellishments or clever patterns. Here are some trendy entrance ideas that make an impression and seem to say, “Come in and make yourself at home!”
1. Painted in bold royal blue, with a patterned wallpaper around it, this entrance by Fadd Studio is a blend of both contemporary and classic elements. It features a square inset window with an intricately patterned metal grille. The lightly distressed polish mellows down the starkness of the coloured front door.
2. Classic double front doors and deep wooden hues set up a grand entryway design here. The console, contrasting artwork and the touch of crystal through the chandelier bring opulence to this space.

3. Here’s an antique door with exquisite artistry by Kumar Moorthy & Associates, juxtaposed with dark-grey stone walls. Reminiscent of traditional Indian homes, this teakwood front door with a heavy frame features exquisite carvings, a vintage lantern and wooden flooring to give a sneak peek of what follows inside.

4. This entrance by Tao Architecture reminds me of an Oriental retreat, complete with a Buddha sculpture, a calming water body and plenty of foliage. The staircase is lined with Balinese accessories to add to the ambience.
5. Lining the entry passage with lush green plants and creepers on both sides elevates architectural details like the clean-lined pathway. While the door has a minimalist design, the wooden pathway brings another nature-inspired element, along with the foliage.
6. The Orange Lane injects a burst of orange in this foyer to make the crisp achromatic whites more interesting with minimal effort. Bold and eye-catching.

7. A solid-teak door embellished with brass inlays gives this entryway an ethnic look. I love how the floral motif injects a hint of traditional Indian design.

8. Layers of vernacular elements add opulence to this home. An intricately carved stone gateway gives way to a teal grille gate with rustic brick overlay on the wall. The bluish-teal pattern on the stairs ties the different textural patterns and hues cohesively.
9. This front door with gold-leaf work and a shining giant medallion with hand-etched gold mirrors sets the theme for a royal, palace-like entrance. Altus – Luxury Living accentuates the theme with a chandelier and console table with crystal danglers and a metallic vase.
