Lighting - Cape George House
Really helpful guide to lighting the kitchen island.
Another reminder that light in a glass cabinet can feature what's inside at the same time as it give soft light to the room. This is another way we might treat the space next to the front door (landing pad). Also could be used in the great room, for the east (art) wall, or the west (fireplace and shelves) wall. We could also have lights under the seating bench under the windows to feature the books that we'd have under there and also provide low, glare-free light for the room.
I love blown glass shades, but prefer them indoor. How about for the kitchen island?
Different light styles over sink and island work here.
I like these woven light shades. I like how they go with the bar stools.
Ceiling lighting tracks allow for a lot of flexibility in lighting zones in this kitchen.
Over-sink lights can be directed. Nice alternative to can lights but would interfere with shelves in front of the window.
Interesting complementary shades. I like both of these (plain drums and spirals).
I like these pendant shades (baskets).
Helpful guideline for kitchen lighting.
Pendant baskets can link to baskets used as accents. I like these.
Different style of sconce. Light goes up and down, with interesting cover pattern. This is labeled "craftsman" but I don't know what you call that style of light.
I like these wall sconces, but might just be awed by the beauty of the wood around them.
Interesting wall sconce. I think this would look really nice in a bedroom, though it's not a reading light.
I like the pendant lights at the right side of the photo.
wall sconce, Tiffany style glass.
Craftsman style light fixtures
Great suggestions for choosing bathroom lighting.
good rules of thumb for pendant light heights, particularly over a kitchen island.
Simple triple pendant light might work well over the island.
Love the two-petal translucent sconce!
Craftsman-style wall sconce
Simple up-facing sconces to either side of the bed give nice room lighting. I would like these for either the bedroom or the great room (below or to the sides of the clerestory windows).
Cluster of pendants over the seating/ conversation area makes the space less clearly defined. This might work for us.
Here, the wall sconces are below the clerestory windows. Does this work?
I love these pendant lights!
Wall sconces have simple elegance. Probably too formal for us, but I like them.
These hanging lights don't visually interrupt the view. Maybe this is an answer to lighting the dining area.
Wall sconces
Combination of chandelier and wall sconce that might work for the great room.
Love these pendant lights over the island!
Interesting (I like them) pendants for over the island.
wall sconces that look like candles.
Consider wall sconces to either side of the clerestory window, with pendants above the island that mirror that style.
kitchen island drop lights
dropped lattice dampens the sound and filters some light; provides hanging structure for other lights.
