Inspirations
Although I abhor the practice of painting antiques, I would purchase a non-antique table and paint or use aplique to it, to mimic the gold accents of this table.
I love the matching fabric on the chairs and the interesting use of a brass/glass coffee table.
I like the idea of a lamp on a pedestal or candle table.
A Good website to use for reference points.
I like the study of pillows on this sofa, which is similar in design to mine.
I just adore pedestal tables.
Love the fringe on the shelf - not the shelf
This is almost an exact replica of the shape and size of my living room and window configuration.
Check out the two end tables!
I love the four large club chairs in place of a sofa or two sofas.
Again the three chair/one sofa placement.
I really do appreciate the four chairs with the sofa. I'm not certain if I have a large enough sitting room to make it work though.
Interesting placement consideration. Instead of having the chairs/sofa up against the windows they are brought further into the room with the conversation area more centered into the room with the sofa against the wall. While something else could be centered closer to the window behind it all. A pedestal table perhaps or anything for that matter.
Oh how I adore gallery style wall hanging, especially with paintings and portraiture. This room is tailored after the late Victorian/Edwardian sitting room. Furniture and cozy clutter.
Along the idea I'm . considering. One larger arm chair with a smaller parlor chair.
Two exact chairs across from sofa. I like the two large trees.
Again three different colors, but with all the same tone
Again with two different chairs with a sofa, one matches and the other compliments its colors. I see that one key to this is having many different layers of visual elements in the room. It gives the mismatches intention by being repeated throughout.
Using complimentary colored fabrics (blue/yellow) is interesting. But moreso the placement of the two arm chairs to the sides and facing eachother, rather than across from the sofa.
Interesting use of two different chairs with a very powerfully colored sofa (blue). Using a different shade of blue for one chair and linen/cream on the other. I've been thinking on applying this concept to my situation as well. It's good to see it in actuality.
