Colin: Don't know how this would work on PH but the outer porch with a doormat style carpet allows visitors to take shelter and remove shoes, coats . Looks good looking out

Sheila likes this front door - ie with at least a single glass strip to one side - happy with contemporary door style for PH too

Colin: Sort of idea for entrance lobby once inside - the photos we have, show a seat with basket storage underneath . This would not be main coat storage area but only for visitors - we need to think about a 'personal' one for the back door / utility room exit

Colin: Rather more contemporary - not sure I like it but it does have a small lobby behind the overhang

Colin: Like this enclosed porch works well with rendered finish

Colin: James and Julies main entrance (again) but the like the ideas for storage and ambience

Sheila likes this entrance approach - so nothing to do with porches then!

Colin: Half wall with bench provides seating and sheltered space for boots, etc - style needs to be Cheshire, not N. Yorks

Colin: This style is all wrong but I like an enclosed external entrance so that visitors can be greeted and chatted to, or if entering the house, can take their shoes off

Colin likes the idea of this in terms of a storage space but primarily so visitors can take off shoes before entering the house - but it is not particularly welcoming and I doubt it is the main entrance

Provides a covered entry - Sheila likes modern front door style
