Farmhouse Kitchen Reno
very cool but not functional for us - too many open cabinets, probably should NOT do wood countertops anywhere.
no.
no. I think I see the word "elegant" - we do not want that.
no
Not bad. Sort of like the tiny bit of distressed/less shiny and sleek cabinetry here, seems to add a bit of character. Jane continues to like at least a few cup handles, Jay less enthused. Again, the black counterops come up, and that backsplash. with the wood and some other colors, it's not too "black and white"
too white/too sleek at first glance. don't like detail/molding on island
Do NOT like the molding/detail on hood or anywhere, sort of weird mix and match, don't love backsplash nor counters - I guess this is a "some elements of what we like, but do not like this" photo
too white, too sleek
no
too white/too sleek
Very cool. Again the blue hmmm. Not sure about that sink/counter but like the cabinets, even the handles - like the wrought iron but probably little room for that in ours
way too modern, would like _some_ detail/texture to cabinets, don't want this streamlined look
this is probably closer to what we're going for. we don't want a lot of detail in the cabinets (thus, shaker?) - and probably shouldn't do wood countertops, but like the splash of some color on island and wood presence and of course, backsplash here.
Like the white, but the island has color to it.
like a lot about this, even the blue coloring (maybe go lighter especially with darker counters?), definitely like the white backsplashes and floor to ceiling cabinets on the far side, like the faucet/sink, could be a little cozier and unfortunately we just can't do the open shelving.
Again, liking the blue that pops up here, perhaps soapstone/darker countertops would make this more our style, and of course away with open shelving.
Island is cool, but probably not for us. LIke this generally, perhaps a little too much wood, soapstone/darker countertops would help, but generally like feel.
can't do wood countertops but like this generally
Don’t like cabinets
Don’t like cabinets
Didn't think we'd want too much wood (and we definitely don't want butcher block counters (they look great but we have learned we cannot take care of them!) but this is a nice mix of white sink, great counters, light wood, and some nice blues...may not want to go this toute, but like this, (probably because of all of the natural light...
Perhaps if we knock the wall down leading from front hallway to enter into the kitchen, this sort of thing can go on one side of doorway? Kind of like the color and rest of kitchen from what can be seen.
Like wood, but this is way too much.
this photo came with this note: (yes to all of this! we need durable, easy to maintain - 2 young kids) "To avoid having fingerprints show on the hardware, I suggest using a brushed or antiqued finish.."

really like these cabinet handles (what are they called?) even though LOVE wood, don't really at all like the "island" table - would prefer an actual island, if one at all.
Not exactly "it", but like the wood
like the mix of colors and subway tile, although open shelving cannot work for us
maybe too "modern"/"clean"
Don't really like this. Too "stately"/"elegant"?
If we were to do white (to achieve and maximize "brightness"), like this - don't love the cabinets, but do love the handles (the cup one?) and the subway tile and sink. NOT the floor. And again, NOT the "open" storage (maybe one shelf would work, but we are way too unorganized for that concept).
NO. TOO "COTTAGE"
REALLY like the feel of this overall. Would want soapstone countertops throughout (wood looks great but we should not do), less "border" where cabinets meet ceiling, but otherwise really like the feel - subway tile, hood, cabinets, hardware, ettc.
AWESOME. But, we should probably not do open shelving, or too much wood on countertops, otherwise, like.
Love all of this.
