Spinout and Pullout Shelves A slight variation on the Lazy Susan concept, spinout shelves like this actually rotate out of the cabinet (instead of just spinning within the cabinet) to allow access to more of the shelf at once. They can still use the same cheese-wheel shape on an inexpensive central rotating mechanism, which will allow the shelves to rotate out partway. Meanwhile, at the other end of the budget spectrum, pullout systems integrated into a standard door cabinet can turn any underused space into a garbage pullout with room for multiple bins without a total renovation. Plus, for dexterous chefs, they can be pulled and pushed by foot to facilitate disposal even when hands are full.
Completing your tool drawer with a built-in power source will keep cords from cluttering your look. These are most easily added during initial construction and installation of the vanity, but sometimes they can be added retroactively by opening the wall behind the drawer or rerouting power from a nearby outlet, depending on your electrical layout and the accessibility of your vanity interior.

This drawer has a clever cutout that gently surrounds the plumbing, making available the good, clean space while keeping the plumbing hidden.
This one is a no-brainer, but recent developments in inserts and containers have taken the herb drawer to the next level. For example, by labeling the tops of these containers they are easy to store upright in the drawer, rather than on their sides. Also note that this large drawer front actually conceals two drawers.

Store linens nearby for maximum efficiency. You can pull freshly laundered linens from the dryer, fold them and put them away without taking a step when your linen cupboard is integrated with your laundry space. Even in a petite closet laundry like the one shown here, you can put a slender shelving unit to work holding stacks of fresh towels and still leave a shelf or two free for supplies.
