Front Yard
Absolutely love the use of a low height wall - another ‘from the door’ view angle on the same prior front view. Love the way the pavers are offset. Geometry and clean, simple but not too rigid. Absolutely hate the lower right brick and flagstone....what were they thinking? They had this really cool thing going. I also didn’t mention in the front view prior how I liked the way a mix of stones also softened the hard edges of the strong forms. Along with the plants, but the plants alone don’t create the full softening effect.
Like the staggered entry geometry and the low profile and transparent fence, which frames the space and demarcates the entry without closing it down. In both I would use different materials but the design ideas are attractive
Love the way the green succulents contrast with the grey blue river rocks. Dislike the poured concrete and steel.
Love the grey stone pavers, succulents, and the slightly rusty orange rock ‘mulch’. Dislike the way the pavers are set.
Interesting colors in the stone, would complement our scheme. More unexpected than grey blue river rocks.
Like the stone paver material much nicer than concrete. Like the mixture of grey blue river rocks and pavers
Like the way the hard scape creates a platform for and presents an otherwise uninteresting house. Don’t like the mix of materials, pick one and make a design theme. I love the way the street side paver seems to ‘float’. I love ‘floating planes’ in design and architecture
Like the geometry
Potentially interesting flowering tree...not familiar with this...
Mix of warm wood and cool, blue-grey hues, would tie in beautifully with our navy, grey, white color palette
Like the approach pavers separated by ground cover...have used blue star creeper for that at an earlier house but there are several good options. Dislike very much the amount of poured white concrete ...makes it look cheap and feel heavy
Love the warm wood walkway, would tie in well with our navy, grey, white scheme
This may be crazy, or not fit, or work with the recapture of front space...but I wonder what a little creek would look like, in front, real or with grey river rocks...with a flat planar ‘bridge’ ...adaptation of this idea...
Like the think horizontal slat fence, would tie in to our colors well. I also think the visual lightness and transparency makes it easier to get approved. It’s more like a screen than a wall or solid fence. Wonder what a little modern variety in horizontal slat size would look like. Might be cool, or get too busy and defeat the lightness and transparency.
Nice way to frame the entry
