This is the terrace- we have rules here where we cannot have a permanent structure on the terrace. So we have to make do with portacabins- trellis - plants etc- want to build seating alongside wall and keep a table etc. furnish upholster and decorate- Mughal-esque. Also we have to use weather durable stuff as we get extreme heat/ harsh winter no snow/ extremely dusty and dry heat.

I agree when you say sliding doors are difficult to maintain, especially when it comes to cleaning the tracks of the door. At first you may make the effort, but later you will so regret it. Hinged doors are easier to maintain. They are a blessing!

We are replacing cheap 20+ year old sliding glass doors with french doors, and plan to sell the house in 5+ years. Marvin seems to be the recommended French door wherever we go, but wanted consider other options as well. We had looked at La Cantina bifold doors, but they are not right for this project. I know they make French doors, but even the distributors that carry La Cantina bifold, defer to Marvin for French doors. One place suggested that Jeld-Wen Siteline is the same as La Cantina for their French doors. Is there a difference between the two? Should we just go with Marvin? Thank you
