Want some suggestions about furniture rearrangement in my living room.
Comments (29)You have very high walls so I would do a tall wainscot on the walls to create some warmth and decoration at the same time. Take everything off the walls and remove all the small little shelfs and decorations, leave only the big furniture. Then start over with the wall decor. Need some bold statements to create some balance and interest but not clutter. Add some larger shelves if you need shelves, something hefty and interesting. It's hard to see wall color and how it works with the upholstery. Do you need all that furniture in the space? I would thin it out. Remove one of the sofas and place the chairs across from the other one. Open up the space in front of the window. Add a sofa table behind a sofa along the wall and decorate it with a couple large vintage style lamps with some accent color (pull a color from the rug that you like) on each end and tablescape the middle of the table. Add a huge mirror above Bring that same accent color into the space with some bookshelf decor but not cluttery. I am not a fan of the drapes; something more neutral in a grommet panel style that can easily be opened. Hang them at the ceiling. They will look really nice because they create nice gentle folds if the fabric is a bit heavy for weight. Comments (20)like so (sorry took liberty with your pic using paintbrush app). in second tv be installed on an island of a solid wall, remaining wall be of glass: use frosted tempered glass for doors n all.. this way you get another expanse of wall to do loads with n utilize full potential (area) of room.. also providing a wall surface on the back of the tv 'island' wall to the sitting area for say a painting, maybe? plus tehre won't be glare on the tv screen either if it's on teh wall-glass partition.. only issue being the slightly longer approach (i-e through dressing room) to bathroom area, which ain't so bad either.. in ur original plan i don't like how a door is sprouting out in the middle of a great expanse of wall... what a waste.....See MoreLooking for Balcony weather proofing ideas
Comments (3)Hi Wing Feather Impressions, Thanks for the suggestion. I think I should clarify, it's not all about just heat and wet in summer and rainy season. Issue 1: During rainy day with more wind towards balcony the balcony floor is getting drenched with rain water and that rain water runs through the stairs that is connected to the right side of the balcony. Issue 2: During summer days from the afternoon till evening (say 1 pm to 6 pm) the sun shines towards balcony as it is west facing, more sunlight enters through the balcony making it hot and not usable during that time. Need to have some sun shade. I am looking for one solution to address both the issues. Below are few solutions I thought of, a. the balcony blinds to prevent rain water and sunlight though it is not a long term solution. b. PVC roofing sheet (2 to 3 ft width) just below the balcony top wall but not sure if that will look good....See MoreSuggestion about wardrobe placement and bathroom door
Comments (6)You are in tight spot in terms of dimensions of the Guest bedroom, there is not much flexibility except for the pantry outside room which can have an additional wash basin as suggested by Nitin from corner stone above. Although, since its guest bedroom, TV viewing might not be priority unless you are looking to use it as your entertainment room for family. If you are planning to use it as entertainment room, then, instead of full fledged wardrobe you can have long wardrobe wall unit upto 2'-9" height for storage & TV/entertainment arrangement & play around the space above. In this case, you need to shift electrical & cable points to wall marked for wardrobe....See MoreJSH ARCHITECTS AND DESIGNERS
