Master bed room

Hey Sudha ji , I'v a few ideas on the placement , a bed takes 9'x6'3'' so place it on the 15' Wall(you can reduce the width by removing side drawers, then you get 3' extra for bigger wardrobes on both sides) with one wardrobe on each side one for him and one for yourself and a chest of Drawers to keep other stuff handy and two Ottomans or love seat in front of the bed so you have enough space in front of the bed for traffic as well, and on the front wall to the bed place your Wall hung T.V, PLEASE keep the colours light , use white marsh by Asian Paints or Honey dew , here are some pics .

The above is really the best layout for your bed and you could add a bench at the bottom. If you want to make it different, if it fits, you could try bed across the corner on the right. You can achieve a unique bedroom by its decor though and place furnitire where it works best for circulation. In regards to the sitting area, given the narrow space, if it's wide enough try a love seat across from bookcases/including tv and fill shelves with great accessories. Use wallpaper for added interest in either room.

Hello Anamika. I would still suggest to not change the existing plan for practicality reasons. The only change that I want to suggest is to have that unit (besides the bathroom door, is that a dresser or workstation?) to move it adjacent to the TV unit (towards the entry door). However, if you do not like the existing pattern and want to change it - you could move the wardrobes to the North wall and place the bed on the West wall as suggested earlier and to address your concern of the narrow look, do one of the below: We could do a better space planning by doing some offbeat designing. If you need a workstation, you could make use of the headboard to double up as a desk (sample pic below) - meaning your bed along with the headboard would be moved towards East by about 3 feet. If you are one who wishes to have a space for your books, you could use the West wall to have a mini library too. If you elevate the work desk and library space by a single step, it would stand out and will give a special look to your bedroom. Another option is to have two single seaters with a round center table in between. You could also have a bedroom bench which can store your knickknacks. Sample pic shown below. Thank you, Srikanth Meticular Interiors

Bhaskar, I would give it a pass. :) You have a bath of a size bigger than most of the baths in modern flats. Its approx 30% of your room size. Why do you want to increase it further. Please specify. Options that you may consider - reduce the wardrobe area a bit and compensate the bath. Increase the bath and use the TV or the Sofa wall for additional wardrobes. At one of the clients places we had merged two adjoining baths to make a king size bath. Take your pick. Thanks, Nitin Cornerstone Designs, Bangalore.
