Yes the island is marble with the perimeter in Caesarstone. Marble is very porous so you have to be careful. Beautiful effect for sure, but they will never remain perfect and that is hard to take for some people. In this kitchen we wanted the marble to age with the house and show a lived in look.
You can do marble in a kitchen but it can take a lot of maintenance. Not normally the best idea if you have young children. Watch this video for some insight.
