OK... but the wire wont be lower as it is fixed now. The wire in the pics below is the wall facing each other. They were leveled on equal height but the beam on one wall makes it seem a little above. But i think you guys are absolutely right that up and down lights wont look good there. I think you are right about down lights lessismoore. Would it look good if i go with two different lights on opposite walls??? it would look odd right.

Take the time to do some research and also seek advice from medical advisors and allergy support groups, there are aspects of your question which are probably better answered by other parents in a similar situation rather than by people on a decorating forum. Keep up-to-date with what's on the market, there are products which didn't exist when I was a child which might well be useful for you, but also be wary, don't feel you must invest in every new product that promises to do amazing things. Dust mite allergy is allergy to dust mites, which live in dust, so what you want to be doing is reducing dust. The list from Brandi Nash Hicks is a great start. Make everything easy to dust, for example enclosed storage rather than open shelving, streamlined lighting rather than ornate fixtures. Use dusting tools that collect and remove the dust rather than simply sweep it off (I was going to give the example of static cloths but they're not appropraite in all situations, you're not supposed to use those near electronics). Get a good vacuum cleaner with a HEPA filter. I guess it's hard to say no to stuffed toys but store them inside something and vacuum them often. With large expensive items especially, weigh up your options before replacing them. For example a good quality fabric sofa might not necessarily be worse than a leather sofa, depending on various factors including leather quality, your climate, how much sunlight it is exposed to, what you clean it with, etc.

I have some suggestions if you are thinking budget friendly changes. Make a photo gallery with different size frames and arrange them parallel to the stairs, so you can enjoy each photo as you climb up. And for the area that will be on a level with your upper floor, try some pretty decal that will connect the photo gallery to upper level. And last, if you have budget add some beautiful hanging lights in the stairwell. Also think about repositioning your refrigerator.

Hi, I am from Assam, Guwahati. Yes it is warm humid place with lot of rains (like kerala). The bookcase is gradually drying. Fortunately last few days were very sunny and airy and my room has two big windows. Few mor details of my bookcase. It is 8 feet wide, 6 feet tall and 11 inch deep. It was attached with wall with 6 wall screw and has four pair of legs.I ask the carpenter to divide the bookcase into 3 part (32 inch each) and two door system for each part. Every part has 6 shelve from top to botom. There is no plywood or wood in back. I made it that way because the bookcase is attached in my room's inner wall I understand that the bookcase may have very little gap in between wall and wooden planks and i am ready for it. But I have no idea that beacuse of faulty mesurement, it became 1 inch gap between wall and sheve in the upper side. In lower side it is very minimum gap. I stop the carpenters to put the glass door. But now I see that they also make fault in making the doors. The doors are heavier that the shelf. The wooden planks are 1 inch thick while the door are 1.1/2 inch thick. I actually visit few hardwere shops here, but most have no ideas what to do and few says to apply wall putty to fill the gap. But my back wall is coloured (old wall, that why) and wall putty will not set on old wall and timber. I cannot remove it now from the wall otherwise the wall may destroyed. I really need a step by step guide now that what to do after the heves are dry, how to fil the gap and how to put the door without further damaging the shelf.
