Need more information...........what is the height variation or fall from the elevation at the top of the stair and where the run would end at the lower landing? What is the length of the run in a horizontal measurement? These are all factors in the code compliant design of the stairs.......not just the width.

The best plan is the one that suits your needs and lifestyle. Nobody here can tell you what the best plan is without first knowing you and your families needs and lifestyle. A house that works for me might be a complete failure for you. I would recommend that you spend some time thinking about what you want/need and make a list of those things. Then begin talking to a local Architect about what your goals are for your home and let him guide you through the process of developing a home that is tailored to you.

Is it in a housing colony/layout/ residential area or farm land or is it on a main road with shops, etc? 4. What are your requirements- how many bedrooms, etc
