You need a different type of wm or dw for mounting on top of each other. You cannot do that with a regular machine. Both of the machines produce a lot of vibration. Please enquire with the manufacturer before deciding to do that. My opinion is not to have a wash basin in the dining room. Can you do something like a powder room near the dining area?

Hi Raghu, You have a nice plan. Generally staircase need a little bit more space than you put on plan (6*14 feet arround). Steep staircase is not useful and accident prone. Why not put your shop under the staircase? I mean to say that extend the staircase to the shop area, put the storage of your shop under the staircase and exted the selling area to the boudary wall. i see some gap between the boundary and the main house in the northern side. Fill the gap by extanding the shop. Do not cover the roof with concrete slab on the extended area between the staircase shop and the boundary wall, rather cover it with corrugated roof sheet (like tata shakti tin). Secondly, you put space between the boundary side and the west wall of the house, Your eastern side is closed with other house common wall i think. Generally western side is more hot in our country. So, you can rather closed the gap in the western side and open the space in the eastern side between the boundary and the house. Thirdly, why not put your bedroom in both side of the toilet. Extended the toilet to the hall. That way you get more space for the bedroom and bath in the rectangular size. If you do not like that your bath door open towards the hall than place a free standing tall cubard/almirah/bookself/ kitchen storage unit in front of the door, it will cover the door and make a small corridor like space for the bath entry. Fourthly, go for large window. I suggest wall to wall, floor to ceiling. Some one think this is rediculous and not feasible in indian houses. But my personal experience says that you can not beat sunlight by any other things. Sunlight is the beast decor idea and if you have sunlight at your home from sunrise to sunset, you donot need any colour, decor item and beautiful accessories. My house is only 600 square feet two BHK one storey house with lots of windows, flooded with sunlight. I have even opaue polycarbonate sheet in my kitchen to get sunlight from the above. Fifthly, make small jaali spot just below the concrete roof in all the open side of the house for the cross ventilation. Sixthly, do not put many wall in the house. It make the house feeling as more small. You can half the wall between the hall and kitchen, so guest can not view the kitchen but it also not fully closed. Seventhly, use multipurpoe furniture like sofa bed, coffee table cun dining table etc. You can check on houzz photo, pinterest, youtube for these kind of furnitures. And last, but not the least, follow minimalism. less thing in house (to store, to organise) is more time for life. For Indian it is much more necessary as we have very little space for creating home.

However, if this is not sufficient for you, there are a number of things you can add to increase storage in your kitchen. Let's take a look - 1] The conventional overheads Pros: Adding overhead units provides you with almost as big a storage space as your under counters. All your additional utensils can be easily accommodated in these cabinets hence making the space clutter free. Also, since the cabinets have shutters, all the mess goes behind them and the kitchen looks neater and cleaner. You may opt for the regular swing shutters or the more modern lift ups. Cons: The overhead cabinets make the kitchen space look smaller. Go for light coloured panels/shutters to give it a spacious look. 2] Ledges Pros: Ledges come very handy for keeping frequently used items such as tea, coffee, salt, sugar etc. They look sleek and can add an aesthetic element to your kitchen space. Cons: Since, the ledges are always exposed to dust, cleaning is a task. Also, one needs to keep the items on the ledges in an organised manner to avoid a crowded and clumsy look. 3] Tall unit Pros: If your kitchen is big enough, you can always add a tall unit. This is big enough to house your grains, pulses and all other kids of items and can hold quite a lot of weight. It occupies somewhere between 1' 6" - 3" of space in the kitchen so opt accordingly. Cons: Tall units are expensive due to their hardware and accessories. It is not advisable to use a tall unit in a small sized kitchen as it requires a reasonable amount of space for operation. 4] Island Counter Pros: An island counter adds a lot of working space in the kitchen. It also serves as a good buffet counter or a breakfast table. You can opt for a regular table to serve as an island or go for a properly designed one with additional storage. Hello there, You could install a lounge sofa cum bed for sleeping and entertaining guests as well . Try placing it in a corner and try to incorporate it into a formal living with accent chairs and a center table. Second, for an informal living, a 3+2 seater config with accent chairs, floor lamps, recliners etc. would suffice. In general, split the entryway area into formal living and the existing seating area into informal living.
