I would brighten it up by painting the walls a more neutral color. Adding new bedding and fun pillows, artwork, etc. will add punches of color that will work nicely with the neutral backdrop. As a student I know designing in a budget friendly way is important. If you have an Ikea, HomeGoods, Gordmans or At Home to shop at, these are all great places to pick up interesting and fun pieces without breaking the bank. As far as space planning, from the picture it looks like a fairly long/narrow space- I would keep the bed at the back, back a sofa up to that and add a couple of comfy chairs and maybe an area rug. Dont forget the artwork too, this adds a very important layer to your space. Hope this makes sense and helps!

Hello, I feel that you can design this bedroom by having 1 opaque wall at the back, and 3 transparent walls using glass & steel or glass & wooden french doors. The walls should be white, with minimal accents of blue or green, use 2 layers of curtains with sheer, and brass hanging lamps. All doors can be white PU paint. Waterproofing this bedroom will be essential, so make sure you have sealed all joints and surfaces, with a minimum of 2 feet roof overhangs. Hope this helps! G

Hi Anu, You did a nice job with designing balcony. If you like plants, then you can grow herbs, flowers, vegetables, it will give your balcony a cozy look and cool feel in this hot summer. You can have bookshelf if you are a reader. From the images it can be seen that balcony length is more, so you can develop a corner for your hobbies or whatever that is you like to do in free time. Hi Anuragini, Well we usually decorate all the "livable" spaces of our home and often skip the transitional ones. Revamping these with a little bit of creativity adds immensely to the entire aesthetics of the home space. Here are a few suggestions - 1. Adding an accent piece such as a huge wall clock or a wall sculpture can really add drama to the staircase space, bringing it into the limelight. Travel collectibles such as masks from all the countries you have been too or little mementos collected as you travel also make up for a very interesting display. They give the otherwise drab wall a huge face-lift. 3. Photographs of your family, their travels, their achievements are always a great option to decorate the staircase wall with. This way you can relive those memories and they serve as good conversation starters too. For a more softer look you may opt for wallpapers as well. These days they come in all colours, patterns and textures providing a lot of options to choose from. You can go for the regular damask ones if you want to play safe as they are not very loud and act as a good background to photo frames, mirrors etc. If you want to make a statement you may opt for rather bold colours with simple geometric patterns as elaborated below.
