Hello Kayzad Shroff & Maria Leon! I'm designing my bedroom all by myself and now I want it to seem like I'm living among a rainforest. So I went for wooden times, veneer laminate wardrobes. The bed will be a platform bed so it'll be low to the ground. I'm now stuck with the ceiling and the wall opposite to the headboard. I thought of wall murals, but that particular wall has windows on the right side, so can't get the wall murals/wallpapers to give that Forest feel. So could you help with your suggestions?

Duco paint would not be suitable for a kitchen because one tends to touch the shutters and drawers with wet or greasy hands and you will always find brownish marks around the handles over a period of time. It is not easy to 'touch up'. It would have to be scraped down and repainted. Dark Veneer is a better option because it does not show wear that easily. But if you have the budget, the best option would be either solid wood which looks fantastic for years, or coloured laminate (since you mentioned paint) with matching edge binding tape for the edges. It looks pretty good and homogenous Look at the white shutters here. Zero maintenance! And this is teak. It's 9 years old. It looks as good as new. I have also done one kitchen in maple and another in pine because of the insistence of the owners, but I would not generally recommend light wood for rough use

Steel - it is heavy but most durable option but it is costly and may catch rust in a few years, However, you can treat it with chemicals to protect it from rusting.Heating capacity is fast. Aluminium/UPVC - Its light weight and durable, it is cheap but very bad against fire. UPVC would burn in seconds if it happens to catch fire. UPVC windows come with limited color options and same with aluminium ones. However, there are few companies who have now started providing wood looking UPVC windows.Moderately resistant to heat. Wood - Wood windows look very rich and you can mould it to any intricate details. It all depends on the quality of wood used, Old Burma Teak is the best wood. You get various options with polishing and painting. They are best to give a vintage look. Wood will cost you more but its worth the investment since they are maintenance free and with right wood chosen and treated, it will remain durable for years. Resistant to heat but catches fire.
