First of all, the proportions and scale of the cabinets look completely off. The relation of line and level with the window and the sizes also look off. For anything look aesthetically pleasing, we need to first get the line and levels correctly and symmetrical. Secondly, it seems like the overhead cabinets are too much on a height for you to access them. So you might want to reduce the height of them to access it. If you don't want to reduce the height then you can create an open shelf concept to fill the gap between the dado tiles and the overhead cabinet. Don't leave the wall exposed since it may catch moisture and cooking deposits on it turning it oily and black, either tile it up or add an open shelf. The better detail would be tile it up with a white basic tile and then make the open shelf on it so that the back ply of the open shelf is not directly touching the wall and it has a layer of tile protecting any fungus or termites from attacking the ply.
