More people posting here are women, FYI. To advise you on this window, we would need to know your goals. What room does this window serve? Do you need light, ventilation, noise control, security from intruders? Will this window be glazed? Where is the structural header and can it be altered? How does the rest of the facade look, where are you located, is it important to coordinate with the style of dwellings nearby? What direction does the window face and is it shaded by other buildings or trees at any time of day?

HI -- I have the very same bay windows . I put Hunter Douglas wood blinds fitted to the windows and have hanging drape side panels on the side walls on each side of the bay . So nothing hanging in the middle . I have the panels ( 95 inch length ) hung from the full wall height (8 ft.) on a rod that goes across the width of the whole wall. Or you could just have the rod the with of each side wall ,having a finial on the interior ends . So that would be ,two small rods with 2 wall cup brackets and two finial ends . I am not a fan of the shutters because of the cost but mostly because they block too much of the light and view . Have the window blinds and the bay interior the same color .

I have no idea about your place, but i found a dog fence very helpful. You can adjust them to different witdh, they are pretty inexpensive and you can remove them later when you move out. But i would also ask you landlord for a permanent installation because he must be concerned about your security too....Good Luck for You
