What do you need to store in the kitchen proper? You already have crockery storage and food storage elsewhere. Just tally what you actually need to store and provide space for that. You may not need all built-in cabinets; shelves, hooks, or pegboards may do as well. And yes, the utility room is very tight....it look like just a 24 in (600 mm) wide passage? I'd scrap the sink rather than squeeze it in so tight. Do you really need separate spaces for utility, kitchen and store? If you combined these all and planned them carefully, you could have a large, very functional kitchen, at least by US standards. (Not being familiar with exact kitchen norms in India, I can't fully comment on the tradeoffs.)

The butterfly drawers would be sturdy enough for grains and cans. I would just make sure the drawer glides are able to hold the weight. I usually look for Blum hinges and glides, they've usually held the best for prior projects. Lazy susans are usually what I love to use for corner storage. However Lazy Susans with a center pole usually cut down on storage space and can be cumbersome when trying to get items in and out. I love the ones that are mounted to a fixed shelf with no center pole. If something falls off it's just like reaching in the back of the cabinet shelf. Plus with the fixed shelf your able to store heavier items like mixers, pots and pan. Magic Corners I find to be awkward when trying to store items, and most you can usually just fit smaller items in the compartments. And the one complaint I get from them is that the glides get sticky over time. If your still wondering what options to go with, find a local kitchen showroom and try them out. Open all the options your looking at and see what fits your lifestyle and habits.

Hi Prashant, South-east corner plots are actually not good for residential purpose. It is very good for commercial purposes. But, if the house is built as per Vsstu Shastra, it can reduce the bad effects. 1. The South-East corner has to be built with a separate building like a shop, garage, small temple, E.B meter room, boiler room, separate toilet…etc. 2. Trees like Coconut tree, Neem tree, etc., can be planted in the south-east corner of the plot. 3. The kitchen must be in the south-east corner. There are many more remedies. Ground Floor : Few columns are too close to each other which is not required. As per Vastu, kitchen should be in south-east corner as this plot needs to follow Vastu strictly. A separate garage/security room need to be added to this plan. A portico will form in the north east corner as per the first floor plan which is strictly prohibited as per Vastu in south east corner plots. The planning is OK as per me, but your south east corner plot requires a lot of Vastu considerations. First Floor : If the toilet which in the north can be shifted anywhere else better go for it. In the long run, toilets can have seepage issues, which can spoil your living room roof. Generally, we prefer toilets over toilets and kitchen over kitchen. The basic reason for this is plumbing issues/to minimize the wastage of pipes. Hope this will help. Regards Prity
