As per Indian standards, height of the kitchen platform should be 34" as we Indians prefer a cook top (which is about 3" in height) rather than in built cooking hob. But European standards are 36" platform height because they mostly use in built cooking hob. Also, Indians prefer lower heights because we are short in height anthropometrically and Europeans are tall in height.

You will need to create another platform over your existing platform by inserting a kaccha marble slab in the wall and then giving it support from sides and center. Over the kaccha marble, you will need to have quartz or granite supported. Fill the gap between existing platform and new platform by cement foam.
